Hi, would like to know anyone of the xperia arc user had update to 2.3.4? i just updated it today.... and it seems the lock and unlock sound is gone. it wasnt like the previous sound anymore. sounds ciplak. XD Lol, but i do think the xLOUD is good. and screenshot.

Is there any way to get back 2.3.2 besides reset whole phone?

woo hoo. just did the link2sd thing.

the thing is ..most of my apps i already used app2sd and its in the sd now.
so can i mix link2sd to link the apps, and some is being moved by app2sd previously?

or do i have to move back my apps from sd back to phone and link back?

thanks..if anyone replies.
*
FYI, according to xda forum, they recommend to move back all apps from sd to phone n link back... cannot link apps that are already on sd card

thanks for reply. never expect will get a reply at this hour.
but most of the apps i move to sd with app2sd are games and some common apps.
do i really need to link them to run? or i can just move to sd as it works before this.
and cant i delete app2sd since i got link2sd, would link2sd recognize the apps that apps2sd moved.

hehe. thanks.

btw, so those Link2sd apps will go to the 1gb partition and those move to sd will go to the other?
*
for the apps that already moved, no need to link. juz let them stay on sd card.
not sure whether can dlete or not.
only link2sd apps go to 1gb partition.
those app2sd app, remain in main partition of sd.

Thanks for the reply. But I am considering of resetting it again... If reset the whole phone, it will effect the SD Card as well right? >_< still not used to 2.3.4... zzz ...
*
resetting phone will not erase sd card data.
recommend u to update latest version so that u can hav better battery life, memory management and other fix

thanks for ur reply once again.
i think i will just let it as it is at the moment.
now i have 158mb free space. woo hooo...
and most apps are in the sd card.
but then..the phone still lags a bit when i press home button eventhough most of the time i have 100mb free ram.

any apps to stop some background running services until the next reboot?
the Updates center, play on device just never dies.
*
ever run this tweak on ur phone? http://captaindbg.com/tweaking-guide-super...ndroid-devices/
it is usefull tweak that helps ur phone 2 run faster.
for me, i'm juz upgrade to latest 2.3.4 - 4.0.2.A.0.58 firmware and flash DooMKernel... a simple tweak here n there and also install 360 launcher replacing the stock SE home launcher. the result = no lag at all

hi there i am just starting to use this phone, the problem i am having with this phone is all my ringtones is in SD card, whenever i plugged into my pc the ringtones goes defaulted, it doesn't want to play the song from my sd card, but if unplugged back the cable its goes back to normal setting. Can anyone help me on this issue
*
if u think logic, ringtone is in sd card rite? then after u connect to pc, sd card will be unmounted from phone. so, ringtone from sd can't be used for a while until u mounted it back. if u want, transfer the ringtone file to internal memory but it is not recommended because can take up internal memory space

nope. i'm using hardcase. if naked, i'm scared my arc s got scratch. if using flip pouch, arc s losing its beauty cry.gif
coz the iconic arc design can't be noticed clearly in pouch

for arc S, how long usually i need to charge the battery for the first time charge.. i just bought it today
*
normally 8 hours. some tip for u for extended battery life. charge until it reach 100% and let it charged about 20min, dc the charger. then let the phone discharging to 50%, off ur phone and charge it without on ur phone until full. repeat the step in ur first week.

yeah. when just holding the phone it self..it feels...oh yeah baby..
but then put on a case...i was like ...potong stim.. haha .

im not worried bout the scratches.
im more worried that even if u took good care of it. the palm sweat just makes the chrome chip off..

thats what happened to my white x10 last time.
*
actually i hate the chrome part. but arc overal design won my heart back. that chrome juz a cheap plastic. easily can rip off... i'm also scare chrome button will get the same fate. coz b4 this, every plastic chrome element in mobile phone or anything, will rip off

may i ask some noob question :
what is the advantage of Unlock bootloader??
then what is the advantage of root our arc s??
if necessary, i think i wanna try it..
*
FYI, by unlocking bootloader, we can flash custom rom in the phone. bootloader is locked by company (SE) to prevent us from flash custom rom. they want us to keep using their official one. and root is getting access as administration privilege. means with root, u can edit system file for tweaking ur arc to the fullest.

advantage of unlocking bootloader is u can flash custom rom in ur phone. but it void the warranty. scared of warranty void? don't worry. there is method to relock bootloader. means restore back ur bootloader locked.

advantage of root is u can maximise ur android usage. no more restricition here n there. can change font, change cpu speed, edit build.prop file for tweak and many more.

BUT please bear in mind, unlocking bootloader n root has very high risk. may brick ur phone. means ur phone is truly un-usable. can't turn on, can't charge n many more. but once again, don't worry. we r in android scene where almost anything can be solved. u can unbrick ur phone with approriate method.

cheers! icon_rolleyes.gif

*

if u want, i can give simplest n easiest way to unlock n root biggrin.gif

Before u proceed, make sure to set usb debugging. Setting >Application > Development > Tick at USB debugging.

Also, u need to install ADB driver for the phone. Easiest way is download this installer: http://www.junefabrics.com/android/download.php and install it while ur phone connected to pc. (that software actually is for wifi/usb tethering but it also hav installation for ADB driver. ur internet might be disconnect after installing that. just restart ur pc)

1st u need to unlock bootloader n root if u wish to install custom rom. If u don't want, juz root ur arc.

Link for bootloader unlocking: https://www.facebook.com/groups/myandroidia...11640442196049/
Link for rooting: https://www.facebook.com/groups/myandroidia...06427309384029/

anything u not understand, i'm here to help u nod.gif

okay..
what is ADB driver use for? izit same with fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.rar ??
"Warning! This procedure will wipe the /data partition of your phone."- this mean my phone data include contact all will gone? how about the data inside sd card?
*
ADB driver essential for any android phone for development purpose. means anything that related to tweaking, ADB is important. fastboot_with_Android_usb_file.rar also has ADB inside it. But to get function, ADB driver need to be installed. n 1 more thing, extract that .rar first. phone data only affected. not sd card content

hey guys, arc s good or htc sensation nice? U guys try b4?
*
FYI, sensation is better than arc s in term of overall performance. plus it is dual core phone. arc s only single core. i'm arc s user until now. i think arc s is more than enough for light n medium user. no need to buy high performance phone unless u know how to utilise it biggrin.gif

Oic.. Okay, i will do it tonight, coz i'm in office now.. work for last day in 2011  tongue.gif
1) how to back up my contact list and sms and photo? cannot copy to sim becoz phone contact too much already..
2) last few days, i have do simple root for the link2sd, so the link2sd will crashing or not?
3) after root, my games/apps all still have? Or before root, i need to backup or do anythings?
TQ~
*
1) maybe u can sync ur contact to google account
2) donno whether link2sd will crash or not. if it crash, u may create again link2sd
3) as i said, root doesn't wipe any sd card content. if u flashing new rom, then it will wipe all data

just realized i cant take a full panaroma pic.
either it say i move too fast.
or i move just right but always get a grey area.

anyone?
*
panorama pic is a key feature for arc actually.
don't move to fast lorh. juz steady move. i prefer u to only move ur body while holding camera. not move ur camera with ur hand. that grey area appear because range u move the camera is short. panorama is best for nature shooting. not suitable for area that have people or other object as it will become distorted.

Ya,in term of cpu performance is better, however, the screen performance n battery performance is not good as arc s..there ll be RM300 different of price. Is it worth to get htc?
*
actually, every smartphone has it's pro n con. if u wan dual core, juz take sensation but if u don't care dual core n wan nice camera go to arc s. i'm using arc s n i satisfied with its overall performance. even not dual core, but it is fast also... camera software even better than sensation. so, it's all up to u.
