Oh Ok, din read properly haha. Anyway. as far as I know, there are no private money changers in Taipei except banks. The fastest way to change is from the airport.

Changing at the local banks in Taipei will be almost similar to airport except no comission. Too bad lotsa red tapes.. They will asked for passport, and need to wait for verification & etc..took me almost 30-45 min waiting inside the bank last time

Taiwan cost of living almost similar to KL. So how much you spend in KL, you can do the same in Taipei..

Argh~~~ I'm going there in 7 days....

Guys and girls,

Any recommendations on what to buy for souvenirs? I thought wanna buy mobile phone accessories since I suspect it will be cheaper there. Anything else? I heard some Taiwanese biscuit are famous but expensive.

December in Taiwan is still mild-lah. I find Cameron Highland colder haha.. I was there Mid Dec 2009, temperature during day time is ~ 18C-27C!! almost similar to CH. during nighttime dropped to 13-17C...also similar to CH but the feeling in CH is much colder...hmnnn probably due to wet cold in CH compare to dry cold in Taiwan haha

Cooler weather, even you walk >5km you will not sweat..You only feel yur leg hurting at the end of the day haha...And 17C is very mild & nice weather...If you can stand Cameron Highalnd, no problem there during December.Jan/Feb probably cold bcos temperature can drop to 10C..That's cold!

There is a counter on the far left of the airport arrival common area. You can shop there. Last time I took the non-express bus that stop along the way when ppl flash them. Cost <NT100 I think ~ NT90 nia. and it goes all the way to Sheraton Taipei which is ~ 600m from Taipei Main ..good for me haha bcos my hostel only 400M away from Sheraton Taipei..There are lotsa buses there..the counters similar to those after you arrived at LCCT..they will also shout & call for you wan haha

I visited Taipei 101 during this time i.e ~ 5:30pm. By the time queing up & reaching the top already ~ 6pm sunset time..& by ~ 6:15pm already dark.

So no problem lor..you can stay as long as possible up there. and the best part. do not limit yourself too long at the observation tower. Go further to level 91 (i think0 and this is the open air area wher you can get a better view of Taipei without the glass enclosure.. and during winter, temperature up there is ~ 2C colder than temperature below the towr.

I don't really consider Tarako express as high speed lor...abit slower than ERL and they do stop (if I still can recall) but lesser stops compare wth every stations stop if using conventional train.

Yeah the conventional wan really turtle but The speed wan also not as fast as as I expected haha

Anyway, taking the train no matter express tilted train or normal to huelien. Please do not sleep esp after Yilan area. The view is poster perfect and the numbers of long tunnels really amazing...no amtter which side you sit..the view really nice...I consider that train journey the best interm of panoramic view..Just don't fall asleep..otherwise you miss all the best ocean & high mountain view

QUOTE(toto4d @ Sep 14 2011, 05:36 PM)
Hehe, really depend on the perspective.

To me, Taroko Gorge is the most spectacular scene I saw in Taiwan, and I hope to go back again...hopefully can do some hiking and more walking..

Tian Xiang or the last stop by tour tourist guides I think much further...probably 25km mark from the entrance? It took me almost 4hrs to cover Taroko... smile.gif 30min darn that's cheating liao haha...No wonder he said not nice bcos that fake waterfall appeared after the contruction of the temple) also not so nice to me haha

QUOTE(toto4d @ Sep 15 2011, 03:06 AM)
Oh, the hillside water with temple? That's just the early part of Taroko Gorge, I think the typical Taroko Gorge route end at Tian Xiang, around 15km from the entrance. There are more walking routes and hiking trails after the temple area.

V-Day = Valentine lor...For me I dun find any romantic restaurants in Taiwan worthwhile lor..Anyway, I think the most famous probably the Lovers bridge at Dansui? Probably restaurant facing this bridge? The skyline of Taipei also so-so nia..KL skyline much better esp V-day on top of Skybar overlooking KL skyline..Taipei sklyline worst than any cities in china biggrin.gif
Cities suitable for V-day - Hong Kong, Macau, Venice, Paris & those European cities..not Taiwan wor..
