this tool plays with boost/fuel/etc and VW is not stupid with the recent high failure rate on thier car.

Now - they will plug in thier diagnostic tool and this tool captures logs etc. Simple check on the boost will tell you that your boost is above normal or your fuel rail is operating beyond its spec....with that - say bye bye to your warranty. Toyota has implemented this on thier hilux if there is a problem with turbo or engine or fuel rail. Just because its plug and play does not mean they are stupid biggrin.gif

▼ Can the RaceChip® be traced after the removal?

No. An additional control unit in the engine compartment is not traceable after the removal. Even if modified values were stored on the control unit, the burden of proof would be at the garage. Modified injection values or similar can also result from a defect sensor technology, tolerances or faulty measuring values.Other types of tuning devices (e.g. OBD) overwrite the control software of the engine directly and identifiably.

▼ IIs a traceless set back possible?

After the removal of the RaceChip® its operation is not traceable and the vehicle is directly set back to its serial performance. Thus the RaceChip® is ideal for leasing, financing or company vehicles. We have optimized the complete vehicle fleet of some of our major clients. As the operation is not traceable after the removal, this is a decisive advantage.

Hey was it u the one who previously offered me 1.4k for my chip which i refuse to sell to u at what you offered and spammed all my sales thread posting i am making huge profit from the chip i sold? Hahahaha

And if you would like to, please elaborate more regarding the warranty issue in your last reply.

Not really sabotaj. I got mine off racechip.de for 1k +- ( include shipping for the pro version) and asked you why were you selling it skyhigh. made me think of making a huge bucks if i started to sell it ( and frankly speaking, aint that hard to support it + i got mine refunded on the 12th day by them since i wasnt that happy with gains i got + the service center asked me i tampered with the engine as the boost record was unusual tongue.gif)

anyway on my clarification to people whom have not used this and wanting to shed some light on warranty, just fyi - toyota vw and ford on thier rangers are now hard pressed on cracking down the plug and play boxes. the race chip for diesel plays with the fuel rail pressure and there is a sensor monitoring fuel rail ( if your fuel rail hits beyond safety parameter - its logged in the ECU as an error code). Simple terminology is to get the logs from the car and it will tell you at what kind of you are at + what kind of pressure your rails were operating. Boxes like race chip and dynomite operate same where where they tap into the sensors BUT the ECU is still basing that over the safety parameter ie if your boost is limited to 1.5 bar highest, the moment you hit 1.8-1.9, your engine will throw a check light as it sense something is wrong

Note - if you dont mind about the warranty or disputes that may arise during that period of claims, leave the car alone. If you dont bother - get a proper remap done. The downside i had with my DSG was, with the tuning box in place, my car was confused in slow traffic on which gear to engage. it kept engaging a upshifting and downshifting eraticallly around 50-60kmh. Simple reason - the tuning box basically only 'cheat's the ECU but it does not cheat the TCU hence the car being confused with with the right gearing to apply in normal drive mode

UGPM.

If it don't work, we won't sell them.

It may or might not be powerful as a remapping that cost more, but it is definitely safe to us, none detectable by factory ECU.
IT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR TURBO BOOST PRESSURE, IT WILL ONLY SPEED UP YOUR BOOSTING TIME.

Fuel injection volume are calculate by the original car ECU, then only it will be process by RaceChip afterwards.
So how the hell the ECU can detect the changes in fuel injection volume?

If your fuel rail hits its limit, there is a shim preventing it from going over-fueling. Nowadays most of the vehicle once you hits the fuel rail limit, the shim will come to work and engine light will pop up instantly.
But RaceChip are very fine tuned nowadays, it will not cause over fueling to your vehicle. Who would want to sell something that cause problematic after sales?

If RaceChip is causing jerk / unsmooth gear changes, please lower down your tuning box setting.

For turbocharged petrol vehicle, RaceChip only plug into your MAF/MAP sensor, nothing to do with your fuel pressure. As your original ecu will calculate the amount of fuel needed to burn after receiving signals from MAF/MAP sensor.

For diesel vehicle, the only way to increase power is to play with MAF/MAP sensor, fuel commonrail sensor, fuel injector pressure, throttle position controller. This is the only way to make more power from a modern commonrail diesel engine. I've been selling Vector chip since 2008, most of my customer, also my friend has no problem claiming their warranty.

Hi Victor87,

I have a simple question.

I Bought one Race Chip Pro Ultimate for my Citroen DS3 1.6L THP (165PS).

- Do I need to adjust the power screw from my chip due to the fuel differences? Our Brazilian Fuel has 25% of alcohol (per our federal law), and the german fuel has 10% of alcohol.

- There are two screws to adjust, right? One screw for the power adjustments and the other for what?

- Third and the last, on my car how do I install the chip? I need to plug the cables on the MAP and on the MAF sensors? There will be two cables, right? I ask this because the MAF is easy to see, but the MAP is dificult to find (is located under the filter box so I will need to remove at least 7 components from my engine).

Thank you very much.
Regards.
