I know Kinokuniya in KLCC is giving free comic for FCBD today... Also, you can always go to Mind Shop in Bandar Utama, PJ, they usually sell free comics at RM1.50 to RM3.00.

QUOTE(Kven148 @ May 13 2013, 12:00 AM) anyone know Can I still get the The Flash the new 52 issues #1 Move Foward until the latest issues #19? If u stay in area round KL/PJ, you can go to the local comic shop (Mind Shop, Earth or Comic Corner) to find the back issues...I'm new with DC comic..right now I'm very interested with the Flash lol But I highly doubt that you can get all the back issues... If not, just try to buy from Ebay... or like what most people do, buy Trade Paperback... that is one of the best way to collect the comic / story that you like... if you only want to read the story... |

QUOTE(munchoong @ May 13 2013, 06:01 PM) Unless you ABSOLUTELY need the original issues themselves, it would be more cost effective to buy the collected editions at either Kinokuniya or Borders. Yup, totally agree with you...The first volume (Move Forward) is already available in hardcover, and will be released in softcover in November. The second volume (Rogue's Revolution) will be released in hardcover in August. These two volumes covers Flash # 0, 1-12 and Flash annual # 1. For me, I collect mainly TPB too, as I can read and re-read... no need to care bout the mint condition...haha |

QUOTE(munchoong @ May 14 2013, 05:59 PM) I am buying Aquaman monthly... although I have not read it since the Throne of Atlantis crossover started. Just accumulating the issues... Haha... I am a fan of this DC 52, been buying all the No.1.... I rather enjoy what Scott Snyder is doing with Batman, although they remain difficult reads because how much can Bruce Wayne suffer la? Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the old Alan Grant/Norm Breyfogle issues from the late 1980s and early 1990s. If I were to recommend DC New 52 titles, then I would have to say Flash, Supergirl, and Earth 2 are waaaaayyyy up there. Till now, still collecting around 20+ of this DC on-going titles... My favourite are Aquaman, Batman, Justice League, Earth 2 and Demon Knights (was hoping that it become something like a fantasy comic, as I am a great fan of fantasy) |

QUOTE(munchoong @ May 14 2013, 10:03 PM) Bad news man... Demon Knights has just been cancelled, the last issue (#23) is shipping August. Yup, juz found out that DC cancel few more titles...This is not the first time DC has canned a New 52 title on me, I really enjoyed OMAC until it was canned last April after only 8 issues. On my DC pull list now are Action Comics, Adventures of Superman, Aquaman, Batman: Li'l Gotham, Batman Incorporated, Demon Knights, Earth 2, Flash, Justice League, Justice League of America, Supergirl, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Worlds' Finest. Coming soon are Trinity of Sin: Pandora, Superman Unchained, and Batman/Superman. I am buying Green Lantern and Red Lanterns in trade paperback and Batman in hardcover Demon Knights Legion of Super Heroes Threshold Dial H So now, The New 52 has become 45!! Not sure DC gonna launch anymore comics to replace the missing 7... |

QUOTE(munchoong @ May 15 2013, 01:33 PM) Good luck. Maybe can post your thoughts on the first issue when it's relased August. Yup, I collected the 6 issues mini series, and decided not to buy the on-going one...I really disliked the recent He-Man and the Masters of the Universe mini-series (also written by Keith Giffen) its really not nice... not a fan of Keith Giffen... |

QUOTE(munchoong @ May 16 2013, 06:48 PM) I am slowly but surely losing confidence with DC Comics.... They still represent at least 60% of my monthly pull list, but I am just looking for an excuse to drop titles. Actually, I prefer DC comics more than Marvel...I will definitely drop Flash if/when Francis Manapul leaves, Wonder Woman if/when Brian Azzarello leaves, Trinity of Sin: Pandora once the Trinity War event is over, and even Batman: Li'l Gotham because I suspect it will be cheaper in TPB format. At the very least DC has helped me with trimming Batman Incorporated and Demon Knights from my list. have stop collecting marvels, except some of their Major Crossover like AVX and Age of Ultron... My opinion is DC is still better than Marvel.... and DC Vertigo has produce one of the best comics... like Fables and Fairest.... |

QUOTE(munchoong @ May 21 2013, 10:36 AM) I maintain an Excel sheet too for fast and easy inventory... Started back in 2001 when my collection was maybe around 2000+ issues only, and have been updating it until now.... almost 14000 issues in my collection already Wah... must be an incredible collection... I have not counted my comics, but it is definitely less than 5,000... Will start doing my Excel Sheet when I am free.. guess will have to take a bit of time to do this...haha |

QUOTE(cobray @ May 26 2013, 02:01 AM) My God Annihilation is just amazing. Nova and Silver Surfer are my heroes now. Ronan's story is so so, and I'm indifferent to Super Skrull. Here's hoping that the Guardian Of The Galaxy movie is successful enough that they can consider an Annihilation movie build-up like they did with the Avengers. Cosmic Marvel is the best Marvel. Yup, Annihilation is quite good... I got the Hard Cover Collection for all 3 volumes of Annihilation and 2 volumes of Annihilation: Conquest... But I think Marvel studio has a problem with Silver Surfer if they want to team-up Guardians of Galaxy with Silver Surfer, as I think the movie right for Silver Surfer is given to Fox, whereas all the new Marvel Avenger movie now is produced by Marvel Studio / Walt Disney Studio.... |

Wah.. suddenly this forum is so active...
By the way, I totally agree with munchoong... the local comic industry in Malaysia is a sunset industry.. Its a pity... I guess when people from our generation is gone, there will be no more local comic stores.. But for now, I know that I still like to hold the comics in my hands despite it is cheaper and easy storage for degital copies.. I am the old fashion guy who still enjoy going to the comic stores to see what is the latest issues of comics and to bring them home every week... I understand that the new generation will not like to do this. To them, they prefer digital, or even worst, they only like things that move, like animation. Lets hope that there will be a change in the attitude of the current generation towards the hobby of collecting comics... |
