QUOTE(marky_dormy2 @ Mar 27 2012, 05:06 AM) hi to all bros, I just started reading Green Lantern Secret origin, any suggestions on which GL titles should I pick up next?to follow the storyline Hi bro. Well to me if u really want to follow the storyline of Hal Jordon's story u must start from GL: Rebirth n then go from there. But if u just want to continue from Secret Origin then the next tpb is Rage of the Red Lantern. To make it easy here is a chronological list of the tpb in GL vol 4. Rebirth No Fear Revenge of the Green Lanterns Wanted Hal Jordan Sinestro Corps War Vol. I Sinestro Corps War Vol. 2 Secret Origin Rage of The red Lanterns Agent Orange Blackest Night Blackest Night Green Lantern U should also check out GL corps as their storyline alsi intermingle with Hal's. Enjoy bro as these are one of the best GL era ever. This post has been edited by sil3nC3_10: Mar 27 2012, 08:58 AM |

i am sad [/quote] I follow Ryan Stegman on twitter n he said that he would be on Scarlet Spider forever. I get it tho I mean its like his baby. He n Yost brought it to life, so to speak. I really don't like it when Publishers play musical chair with the artist of a title. I wish an artist which is great & suitable for a tone of a comic would stay with it forever. But obviously its too good to be true. At least independent publisher like Image don't rotate their artist so much. Charlie Adlard of The Walking Dead & Ryan Ottley for Invincible are examples of 2 great long term artist on a series. Well aside from that I want to ask where would u guys normally get a longbox to store ur comics? N what the usual price for 1? And if u have any other tips for taking care of comics can u please share? Thanks This post has been edited by sil3nC3_10: Apr 17 2012, 11:29 AM |

QUOTE(TomChu @ May 29 2012, 04:46 AM) AvX is quite sloppy so far, I personally find the reason why they are fighting quite pointless. Issue 1 was a pretty decent build up, but 2,3,4 is a bit messy IMO. most characters are portrayed so... out of character Oh really? Thats a bit sad to hear. I think Marvel's epic summer events nowadays are lots of hype but the quality might be diminishing.AvX VS. I find quite fun to read, its pretty much what it is, two guys beating the hell out of each other I don't read avengers but this is what ive heard so far: New Avenger tie-ins are feels unrelated, a bit out of place. Secret Avengers are quite good, but funnily has no X-Men fighting the Avengers Not sure about Avengers or Academy. UXM tie-ins are okay, quite a bit of character development, and Cyclops actually acting in character, with plans up his sleeve etc etc WolverineaTX is pretty good, shows more character development, conflict betw. Cyclops and Wolvie post schism. Legacy ive not read. Overall, AvX is a mess. ASM is definitely worth reading. Ends of the Earth is pretty good, I haven't been reading Spidey for long, but at the end of every ASM issue, it keeps you wanting more. I heard Fear Itself wasn't a satisfactory read as well. AvsX has a nice premise to me but i think 12 issues is a bit too long. I mean how long can u stretch the coming of the Phoenix? I have heard many good things about Wolvie & the X-men, might pick it up if my allowance permit it. I think Marvel should really distinguish their characters a bit more like not making 1 hero be in so many teams. It dilutes the character & can lead to inconsistency among books. Team books are hard to manage as it is especially if each has their own solo book. the answer is just crowd control. But these are my humble opinions. I am also a Marvel fan so now i collect based on the quality of the writer. Dan Slott & Rick Remender are 2 of my favourite writers at the House of Ideas. Is anyone geared up for Superior Spider-Man?
I personally loved Dan Slott's ASM run. I liked how he made Peter Parker equally important as his alter ego. His life has also turned for the better. And from the words of the Web Slinger himself, he has made it "Big Time". I also prefer Amazing to Superior but alas all will answered in 2013. ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by sil3nC3_10: Oct 14 2012, 11:37 PM |

QUOTE(munchoong @ Nov 12 2012, 05:40 PM) Me Where do u get ur comics from? Which LCS?Am subscribing to all 5 monthlies and picking up all the regular covers, TPBs, and Valiant Masters hardcovers as well Cover price for the monthlies is RM16.80 (US$3.99). I've been lucky so far in grabbing all the regular covers and the 2nd/3rd/4th print variants, although I missed the Mico Suayan and 2nd print variants for Archer & Armstrong # 1, and the 2nd print variant for X-O Manowar # 1. Just received the 3rd print variant for Archer & Armstrong # 1, and the 2nd print variants for Harbinger # 1 and 2 last Saturday. Archer & Armstrong by Fred Van Lente and Clayton Henry is IMO the best of the bunch, with fun action and really humorous situations, harkening back to the original 1992 Barry Windsor-Smith issues. X-O Manowar by Robert Venditti and Cary Nord is the second best of the bunch. Nothing much has happened yet other than Aric crashing into the 21st century and encountering Ninjak. Lots of action here, not quite as good as the original series yet but it is a gorgeous book and Venditti really knows how to write action. Bloodshot by Duane Swierczynski, Arturo Lozzi, and Manuel Garcia is also very heavy with action, albeit with a bit of psychological twist as we still don't really know what Bloodshot's deal is and what his frequent hallucinations actually mean. This is a much more interesting take compared to the original Kevin VanHook/Don Perlin run though. Harbinger by Joshua Dysart and Khari Evans is the weakest of the bunch, since it reads like a retread of the same areas covered by Jim Shooter and David Lapham in the original series, with ugly artwork by Khari Evans. Shadowman by Justin Jordan and Patrick Zircher is still unknown cos I haven't received the first issue yet, although the 4-page preview looks promising. At the very least it appears to be a much more interesting read than the original Bob Hall-written Jack Boniface version, although I do miss the Garth Ennis VH2 Michael LeRoi version. CC Bangsar has shift to a new location right?
Do they have a member's price or something? Interested in Shadowman. The art from Patrick Zircher is AMAZING. And the writer wrote Luther Strode which I enjoyed as well |

I agree 100% about Thor. This is the Thor book that we have been waiting for. Jason & Esad brought their A game.
Avengers is a bit slow but Opena's pencil make up for it. New Avengers is a bit slow but waiting for a few more issues to get the feel of the series. Didn't expect much from the Marvel NOW titles but I am currently collecting 4 titles from the line. Just added Uncanny Avengers cause Acuna will be the new artist. |
