wow, seremban also so nice, the coverage
i tot is 64kbps ?

It's 128Kbps for U Broadband users. 64Kbps if you're using the RM28/month package. This is supposed to be the U broadband thread, but the mobile internet (RM28 a month with 500MB meant for usage on smartphones) got included, no thanks to the TS for this confusion. A few people have already asked him to change the topic title, didn't want to listen.

Is it just me, or is U Mobile starting to disconnect frequently lately. I find it very annoying, especially when downloading some large files at super speeds...then poof it disconnects. Argh!

I'm connected to UM BB since 6PM and about half an hour ago I realised that though I am still connected to UMBB, I can't surf the Internet. Resetting the connection does no good. ANyone else experiencing this? I'm located in Bangsar BTW (posting through DiGi BB prepaid )

Thanks for the feedback, relieved to know I'm not the only one. Where are you located?

Anyone else?

Since yesterday UM has been crawling. A lot of pages wouldn't load. I think they're experiencing some sort of technical difficulaties? They are upgrading I hear, especially areas formerly with HSDPA, to HSPA...

after HSDPA to HSPA, the line is much smooth, especially the upload has been increase  thumbup.gif
Anyone here using the 42Mbps package? how is the speed? Thinking upgrade to with 20GB.
*
The upgrade was supposed to be on the 10th. It's close to two weeks now since then.
My area has been upgraded to HSPA, but very usntable. No disconnection, but intermittent periods of data not coming through - very annoying as it spoils my downloads.

Getting a wee bit better, still hit by the ocassional non-transfer of data, but what pisses me offmore now is that they moved us back to the old, shared IP range ( the 123.xx.xx.xx range) so downloading from free filesharing sites can be a problem

I thought with the holidays and everyone gone back to their hometowns the problems would be gone. It's still there. Their upgrade is a botched job. It's been 20 freaking days since their so-called upgrade and I'm still having issues.

apersaje are you in KL?

u can try to let it redial or reconnect ? window dialer can auto reconnect..

That would be of no use if you're downloading from a file sharing website -you will have to restart your download which is a major annoyance.

So I called UM CS and they told me I have to be in 3G area and my Tab showing 3G signal then I can use the service, because MB40 plan is for 3G coverage only, if H then cannot use.

Any pointers?
*
I think the CS does not know squat. It's UM that's having problem. My area exactly the same symptom - before they upgraded to HSPA, everything was fine and dandy except for the upload speed which was slow at 56Kbps. WHen they upgraded the coverage of my area, it stays persistently at H (instead of just when there is active data transfer) and with that came inconsistent connection - frequent DC at one time, then no data transfer even though connected.

Guys, I think UM is pretty slow and unresponsive. We have to do something about this. Can you guys report your case to UM, get a case number, and if there is no change or update after a week, I plan to have a mass walk-in of all of us into UM to complain at thei HQ in BTS.

Anyone game?

Dumped U Mobile aleady today. And looks like I wasn't the only one facing connection problems there - there was a Mat Salleh there who brought along his laptop to demonstrate.

Just signed upfor DiGi Explore 10GB for RM 88 per month in its place

Ahaha I have 4X 3G modems + 1X 3G modem router. Can't afford to let them go to waste. Haha. In any case I am quite mobile and P1 is not available in more than 50% areas where I frequent...

In addition, I used AMAX before and my experience with WiMAX technology is not that good - a lot worse indoors than 3G.

Once it stabilises let me know. I particularly hated the disconnection and no data transfer even while connected. Just dumped UMBB a few days back./..
