I totally don't believe that is a twit from U Mobile. And without doubt is not an official one.
*
WHy is that?

They have responded to my queries before, coming back with details that only they can know. I've followed them for as long as I can remember. In addition, the twitter account link from their own website points to that account (umobilesb). So it is without doubt an official one.

I just wondered... Why post the twit on "twitlonger"?
*
Because the tweet was longer than the usual 140-characters? Notice the RT tongue.gif

Guys,

be careful when signing up for U Mobile postpaid. I terminated my acc on 2nd september but still get billed for usage between 1 Sept and 30 Sept. According to them they have no pro-ration so have to pay for the full bill cycle even though I did not use it. They say I have to pay the full amount.

Am bringing this up with SKMM.

this rule is stated on their website clearly, and when I apply it, the staff has told me too. maybe you are not.
i only can say good luck to you.

I wasn't told, which was why I am royally pissed. Had the girl at the counter made me aware of this during termination I would have waited until September end.

Not true!
Just buy a u mobile sim @ rm 8 with rm 5 credit! U can use it to make call SMS just like any normal sim. If you decided to Internet unlimited just top up your credit n subscribe to it! Well the speed is 128 kbps if not mistaken. For normal hand phone usage like light browsing fb chat is ok!

However if u like to subscribe to broadband package, just top up your credit and using your phone to subscribe to ub40, ub68 etc! But I find the ub68 is more worth it as the data limit is 5 GB and speed is 5mbps where else in 40 speed is only 1 Mbps and data limit is 2 GB. Having subscribe to broadband package u can use it to online with phone or just insert it into your dongle modem and use it with your laptop or wifi router. The credit in this sim is still can be use to make call or SMS and receiving call. There is no such thing as sim limited to data only like what Digi has!

U mobile is undoubtly the fastest mobile Internet available here and it put Digi to shame!
*
Another thing - is it possible to subscribe to MB40, use it on the phone, and be able to still use it while not in U's 3G coverage? AFAIK this is not possible with broadband packages; curious to know if it will work on the phone when subscribed

The right menu for check usage is *118*2*3#
Of course U-Mobile have the chance for check usage and traffic remaining wink.gif

That's valid if you're subscribed to any prepaid broadband packages - Unlimited Mobile Internet NOT included. Otherwise you'll only get a message stating you're not subscribed to any broadband package...

U Mobile 3G /HSPA seems available in Rawang now (town area) - noticed it a few times when I pass by. Not covered in the coverage map available on their site though.

how long does it takes to port in to u-mobile from digi?
thanks

It *was* one day, thoretically, but in practice, not so. I had this horrendous experience just earlier this week when MNP-ing from DiGi to UM.

They sent an SMS saying my new UM sim will be activated in an hour, but it was not before the lapse of two days and a visit to their BTS outlet that the SIM is activated. They made a further bungle when they activated the SIM "half way" - I could call out to all numbers just fine but if my friends on maxis/digi/yes etc tried to call in, it gets directed to the old DiGi SIM - both SIMs with the same number were active!

It was finally resolved this morning. sweat.gif

hi, is the prepaid top up to get kfc coupon still available? if i just walk in to any 7-11 to topup., will i get the coupon?
*
I always get the coupon by buying the RM50 reload voucher at U Mobile outlets or at least communication stalls. Not sure about 7E.

Use the MDMA software. It allows you to use USSD on your modem (quit the Mobiel Partner software first) http://www.nerve.org.za/mdma

If you guys are on U28 or Unlimited mobile 28, better use speedtest sparingly. One speed test will gobble up 10MB

No charges for MNPing, though I think you should do it towards the end of the month

You can't. Because it's "unlimited" Internet hence your usage is not shown.

Spamming SMS is one thing, but to get it at 1AM is a real pissant. Use some common sense la U Mobile!
