Shame on you Apple!
How could you decide not to help your customers? QUOTE AppleCare does not provide support for removal of the malware. You should not confirm or deny whether the customer’s Mac is infected or not. QUOTE Important: *Do not confirm or deny that any such software has been installed. *Do not attempt to remove or uninstall any malware software. *Do not send any escalations or contact Tier 2 for support about removing the software, or provide impact data. *Do not refer customers to the Apple Retail Store. The ARS does not provide any additional support for malware. QUOTE AC: We have a team of people who go though all case notes and find new issues that are popping up a lot and send notices to all of AppleCare. Our notice for Mac Defender is that we’re not supposed to help customers remove malware from their computer. At least Microsoft provide support for their customers when it come to malware. Looks like Apple to trying to "protect their no-virus image". Lesson learn. Use common sense. Never assume. Stop buying Mac. Windows is cheaper, can play more games, provide support and have vast security setup up for free. See here: Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 This post has been edited by Ramjade: May 20 2011, 09:19 AM |

meh.. if a person really is a graphic designer and he/she fully utilies his MAC, then its worth it. But many ordinary people just want to get MAC coz to show off, they buy it in the end use it for normal browsing.

QUOTE(T09 @ May 25 2011, 10:01 PM) It is still beta. Better wait for the stable version to be release before installing. Avast beta's are usually very fast and the release has very serius little bugs unlike Kaspersky's.This post has been edited by Ramjade: May 25 2011, 10:24 PM |

More bad news for Apple and Mac users.
Just barely 12 hours after Apple announce their support on how to remove the rogues, new and more dangerous variants of rogues that target Mac users have appear. QUOTE Unlike the previous variants of this fake antivirus, no administrator’s password is required to install this program. Since any user with an administrator’s account – the default if there is just one user on a Mac – can install software in the Applications folder, a password is not needed. This package installs an application – the downloader – named avRunner, which then launches automatically. At the same time, the installation package deletes itself from the user’s Mac, so no traces of the original installer are left behind. For more info, read the links below.
