No point in over-revving when the engine has already passed its peak horsepower. Also, revving too high will cause valve float and may cause misfiring. If you really want, suggest to find someone to reflash the OEM ECU. Custom reflash is always better than aftermarket chips (which are near impossible to find for this car at the moment anyway). Every car is different, a generic chip won't be able to unleash as much power as an experienced tuner can.
IMO it is better to tune the car for higher torque across the rev range rather than trying to raise peak horsepower. For that, first you will need to do up the intake, header and exhaust (I/H/E). Then beef up the electricals (VS, grounding, alternator). Once you've done all that, send your car for a custom reflash.
or another way is to bolt-on force Induction...like Turbo and Supercharger(I'm aiming for SC)..IMO it is better to tune the car for higher torque across the rev range rather than trying to raise peak horsepower. Turbo and Supercharger does increase horsepower n torque...problem is Turbo is, it had 'Turbo Lag' system, while Supercharger don't have any lagging issues, cause run with the crankshaft....correct me if wrong...while problem of Supercharger is it doesn't have rear end power, while Turbo had it.....Supercharger had better pickup and low-end to mid range torque(1RPM-4.5kRPMs), while sacrifices @ high spd compare with Turbo(of coz better than N/A), while MOSTLY tuned Turbos or twin turbos are for rear end torque(4.5k-10k++ RPMs)
mostly ppl use Turbos for Drag racing, circuit roads, more on straight, while Superchargers are more suitable for mountain pass like those Initial D mountain roads, another means...those with lots of corners, which doesn't use high gear(4th to 6th gear in M/T)...
with these 2, u can increase incredible amount of torque and horsepower.....
