Hi All, I'm on CM7 already, GB 2.3.4.
But how do I get back all the necessary Google Apps? Market, Gtalk, Gmail (for contact sync), Maps and etc? |

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ May 16 2011, 05:07 PM) You need to download the Gapps package. Thanks Bro!http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/17020-a...build-20110303/ Look for Google Apps Addon My phone felt like a "stupid phone" now, without all these value added stuffs. QUOTE(gmhafiz @ May 16 2011, 05:07 PM) You need to flash gapps through CWM: http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip Hi gmhafiz, refer: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/17020-a...s-experimental/ Mind adding these links to the Flashing CM7 mod section? Instructions on XDA was wayyyyyyyyyy too long to read. |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ May 16 2011, 05:39 PM) done. i've just reflashed the whole thing back (from ezbase 2.0). I believe I've switched on HSDPA. Now i need to go to an HSDPA covered area to test this out. I haven't use 3G yet cause haven't restore my watchdog apps. I used EZBase 3.0 to flash to CM7, cause I can't find a copy of EZBase 2.0. It's fine, right? BTW, I can't use *#CSC*IMEI# anything, nothing happens. Aside from that, it prompts me for SIM PIN. It doesn't reset all the settings, or this is normal? Should I redo? Google Maps is not in *sigh* Lots of work to be done. |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ May 16 2011, 06:58 PM) - should use ezbase 2.0 because it contains froyo bootloader. ezbase 3.0 has gingerbread bootloader. Anyway, the phone managed to boot, so it's ok. But I noticed CM7 also removed the phone off battery animation, right?- those are samsung secret codes. they only work with stock samsung and its derivatives. - don't know about sim pin. - you should be prompted to select google maps after flashing gapps. otherwise, just install one from the market. CM7 is an AOSP containing only open source softwares. google apps, unfortunately are not this is why they are excluded from cm7 package. There are some weird feel to CM7, still coping with it. |

QUOTE(fongzai92 @ May 16 2011, 08:22 PM) Nah, I think that's another extended April Fool's day joke by Samsung. Flahed Gtalk v1.3 over my CM7 GB 2.3.4. Video feed still not working, nor can my Gtalk pick up calls. That's unfortunate, as it works just likw on 2.3.3. HTC Desire already able to receive/send video/call feeds on its Gtalk on 2.3.4. Haih... |

Any idea how we can re-acquire Swype for CM7?
There are plenty other Google Inc.'s apps which can't be installed, such as Blogger, Orkut, Buzz, Earth and etc. *sigh* |

QUOTE(gmhafiz @ May 17 2011, 03:25 AM) HTC desire do not have front facing camera right? I have the pulled gapps 0503 (2.3.4 nexus s version) which supposed to have partial gtalk video chat. but I'm still finding someone to test this on hsdpa. It uses the only camera on HTC Desire. At least the feed was fine.As for GTalk on our phone running GB 2.3.4, it works the way it was on GB 2.3.3. Only audio, video feed was not sent and can't accept incoming calls and our peer can't see Video/Audio icon on their side. Only able to call out to GTalk clients with video/audio support. PS: I installed a separate GTalk v1.3, cause the earlier GApps that I downloaded was giving me the older GTalk version, which doesn't support video/audio calls. Added on May 17, 2011, 4:05 am QUOTE(gmhafiz @ May 17 2011, 03:50 AM) Gonna use Google Spreadsheet + Form for that? I think it's cool that we could share the spreadsheet later. This post has been edited by Harddisk: May 17 2011, 04:05 AM |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ May 17 2011, 01:47 PM) It works! Yay!Though this version doesn't have Chinese input. Looks exactly the same like Froyo/GB version. But I recall Nexus S' Swype looked different though. gmhafiz, can include link to the Swype under CM7 section, in case some users want to have Swype restored back into their CM7 ROM? Thanks. QUOTE(lch78 @ May 17 2011, 06:34 PM) The sharp drop correspond to your phone awake, but your screen only on intermittently during the sharp drop. Could be some apps keep your phone awake during that time. I wonder how to check which app is causing that in CM7. Does it even make sense that the battery would drop while I was charging it? lol |

QUOTE(lch78 @ May 17 2011, 06:55 PM) The green bar at the bottom represents your charging period, and if I am not wrong, the sharp drop began when you stop charging, that is when the green bar stopped as well. When the sharp drop began, the awake bar is a full bar, which only implies that the awake function is causing the sharp drop. Before the sharp drop, there was slight drops of 4% during charging. I think you need to line them in order to see the drop. But still, seeing the battery drops during charging is scary. |

CM7 GPS locking is superbly fast. So fast that, when I click enable GPS, it's already locked!
Of course, I was outdoor with location on. But the same config in Froyo was never that fast. Next is to check he accuracy. Added on May 17, 2011, 9:34 pm QUOTE(gmhafiz @ May 17 2011, 09:17 PM) Played with google forms and spreadsheet. Not sure how efficient it is in troubleshooting.
