Hi. I just got my new SGS 3 days ago (only AP set -Singtel).
Current on stock froyo.

Is it safe to flash my with Gingerbread from other region? currently interested to for Gingerbread XXJVK 2.3.3.

Anyone can help? Will I lose my phone functionality....?

Most people are not very technical and don't do a lot of customisation.  what my wife and most of my friends in the iphone group never have any problem with not being able to transfer file with usb or bluetooth.  All they use is facebook, internet browsing, taking photos(iphone 4 camera is amazing), chatting etc and iphone works like a charm for them.

I guess most people bought the iphones/ipads not to customise it but to use it.  Only a minority like us actually interested and know how to do it. 

I have an ipad and i'm fine with it not able to do much customisation.  But what i love about the ipad is the amount of quality  apps available and it hardly crash when I am using it.  My 2 girls, one 4 years old and the other 6 years old both love the ipad and my wife love it too.  I don't think they need all the cusomisation on the ipad at all.  What makes the iphone/ipad so successful is that it is simple and that is why my 2 kids know exactly how to operate it.  Just tab on the apps icon to launch it and home button to close it....it just work!

I will skip the ipad 2 and get the ipad 3, but one thing i know is that I will not get a andriod tablet.

come on guys, he's not an apple fan, to be fair, he still owns a SGS, its just that the performance is just not up to his expectations compared to Iphone. its his opinion and we should respect it. we are not here to argue which phone is the best but to give opinions.

however, i do not agree with his perception that IP4 lotsa people line up and all. to me the reason for that is Apple has only IP4, whereas Android has LG/Samsung/HTC/CSL/ASUS/Motorola etc. so it is not a fair comparison. a fairer comparison would be the number of sales of IP4 against Android phones.

really? 3mil pre-orders?? wow. not surprised though, i heard LYN someone selling SGS2 and the list have reached almost 100 or could it be more by now. im just waiting for Maxis to launch it so i can get it under the plan at a cheaper price. i heard SGS2 will retail cheaper than SGS when it was luanched last year.

Google is cleaning Android Market. many emulators are now pulled. Pokedroid, my favourite companion for playing Pokemon games, is also pulled.
soon, Market will be clean. but at the cost of apps number.
but for now, let's install Lookout or AVG or any AntiMalwares.

I understand your concern. I also think the same like you. maybe Lookout invented that DroidDream and DroidDream Light to get more money. or maybe it was invented by some low-life iFag scums who hate Android so much. or perhaps Windows Phone fan..? though I seriously doubt that iFags can invent anything.

Just flash to Juwe's rom. 

I flash with 100% battery but after the flash it shows only 97%.  Charging also stops at 97% unlike Froyo which shows 100% but drops to 96-97% when unplug.

Is this normal for GB?

1. Absolutely.
2. There's an application called theme chooser. Switching theme is just a click away.
3. All those that are made for samsung photoshop rom won't work with CM7. None exists for cm7 AFAIK.
4. still choppy.  Maybe youtube hd is better.
5. Can use now, but can't change volume.
