there're downloads under 2 headings, one's With bootloader, the other's without. Make sure u download the one With bootloader, then u'll get 3 files, flash them accordingly. you don't have to tick "Phone Bootloader Update" since it's included in PDA, it'll be flashed anyway.

If u don't have recovery mode and laggy/corrupted boot animation, most likely u din have an updated bootloader

Added on June 6, 2011, 6:00 pm
still have recover mode? if yes, then good to go

EDIT: if u don't have the updated bootloader, flash it over here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047924. remember to tick "Phone Bootloader Update"

NOTE: It's not recommended to flash bootloader alone. some Gingerbread has different bootloaders. make sure the above is compatible wif ur GB. better to flash the whole rom.
Try at ur own risk smile.gif

Thanks.

Out of the box, it's terrible.
But if u learn how to flash wth different kernels or roms, it's the best single core android ph.
If ur looking for phone which is easy to use n w/o hassle, better go wth iphone. smile.gif

i totally agree biggrin.gif

I was on Airplane mode so its not running 2g/3g, no wifi etc.

I flash to Darky V10.1 and last night before I go to bed it was 18% left on Airplane mode.  This morning I wake up the phone is off with no bat left.  That is disappointing.

On Darky V9.5, i left my phone on Airplane mode for 2 days and it only consume 3% of the battery.  I guess froya is still better.
I posted the above yesterday regarding my phone consuming like 18% while on standby "airplane Mode".

Last night before I went to sleep I check I have 69% and this morning I wake up it got 68% left so only 1% used in 9 hrs.. That is more like it. Same Darky V10.1 firmware.

One other thing I notice is that LauncherPro is not very stable as it is causing a lot of hang and crash so I have switch to GoLauncher and so far no problem with hang or crash yet. In fact I like GoLauncher more as it has some iOS feel to it like the wiggly mode where I can rearrange my icon.

The other problem I need to solve is the GPS now. Do i need internet connection to speed up the GPS lock? I have no luck getting my GPS to work since I move to GB. Btw, I do not have internet or 3G where I am now so I cannot try it out.

Time to ditch Darky ROM. My friend on Darky also havings lots of problems.

I don't think the Cell Standby problem is not with Darky only. I was on Juwe Smart Edition first and the same Cell Standby battery drain is there.

Mind sharing the link where you got the k15-t4-300hz speedmod? I did try DXJV9 but didn't like the lockscreen so flash to Darky.

Hopefully someone have an update to add more lockscreen.

Cheers

I remember I have Hanzi, Pinyin or English on my keyboard when I was on Darky V9.5. But now I upgrade to Darky V10.1 and realise the chinese imput is not there. Maybe its the chinese dictionary I installed call Hanping Chinese Dictionary Pro v2.4.1 which installed the chinese support inot the keyboard?

Can someone try install Hanping Chinese Dictionary and see if it does add chinese input to the keyboard.

I cannot try it myself because I am offshore right now and don't have any wifi and 3g which is required by Hanping Chinese Dictionary to download the dictionary files.

Deodexed stock DXJV9 with speedmod + sd-booster = superb. so far i do not have any issue on battery drain, i would say as good as froyo 2.2.1

Now testing custom rom "eRobot" based on DXJV9, so far so good, battery life is yet to conclude.
*
Is this where you download the Deodexed stock DXJV9?
Link

What is this first part do?
1: You need to have a copy of the files on /efs partition of the device, to do so then your device must be rooted, have busybox installed and have ADB installed on your PC, then execute the following in Command prompt:

cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/platform-tools (Use cd c:/your_ADB_directory_name/tools if you are using an older ADK versions)
adb shell
su
cp -r /efs /sdcard/efs
exit
exit

Move the copy of the efs folder from the internal sdcard to your PC and keep it safe, you never know when flashing, do it now if you haven't done that yet.

Do I need to have busybox install to run this Deodexed rom?

That is the ADB way of backing up your efs folder (efs folder stores your IMEI information). There are other simpler ways to get this done, by using SGS Tools or just simply copy and paste using root explorer.
*
Oh ok. I already backup my SGS efs so no worry. Thanks
