TS, you should do a part time degree program, if not you employee will keep on using your qualification to depress your wages especially for bigger company.

My designer, 7 yrs exp with diploma gets 6k le.... hahaha, how to justify? this yr only 30 yrs old...
Its all about your luck and how you sell urself to the management. i also envy his/her salary.

he's good at negotiation and knows his worth lor. if he doesn't have sought after skills, no one will be willing to pay so much for him also what.

my fren last time not even 30yo mthly average is 10k-12k++ also.

Going by just qualifications and experience alone isn't a conclusive gauge of salary bracket.

Need to consider what career milestones have you achieved? Someone who have a good track record of achieving targets and being able to make a difference will definitely be able to command a higher pay.

+1
during nego, must highlight all ur capabilities and ur advantage over other candidates. even if u don't have the necessary experience, u can still highlight the skillset u have.

My brother has 5 years experience with qualification of just Diploma of IT. He earned 3.5k with standard chartered. So, i think you could get higher than that since you're in engineering field.
