Hi, i'm new owner of A500. I'm facing the problem when i press the Power Button to standby the device in sleep mode. It standby for about 3 to 5 minutes then it wakes up by itself for few seconds then went back into sleep mode again without me touching or press anything at all.  . This seems to repeat itself until if i shutdown the device completely. I spoke with Highpoint support agent and they suggested that i bring the device to their subang jaya HQ office to do the build number update to Acer_A500_1.139.04_COM_GEN1. I went to their HQ office and they did the update. Guess what? This problem still exist and is happening again. Anyone care to share your experience??

Boy, im beginning to hate Acer and perhaps switch to Asus Transformer Tablet.

The price for the  slidein type which I got it ( supposedly free with package ) is a rip off at RM 150. It is not worth at all. The casing material is so rough and poor - such cases of such materials one can easily buy it at most roadside stalls at most RM 50. Maybe paying RM 150 is for the word ACER stamped on the flap cover

Strange indeed. I could download these on day one ( ver 10.3 ) without even using Market Enabler. Your case similar to most EEE Pad users who also feedback they couldn't download Flash Player
Did you enabled the Market Enabler - you need to hold down the telco ( eg TMOUSA) and select ": Fake provider" to get it to work

when I was in gadget zone, I have the chance to compare the A500 and Asus TS. I ended up getting the TS due to it is more suitable for me and my comparison is more to usability rather than spec. There is a lot of comparison out there, but when it comes to practicability, I choose to compare how I would use it. Both I think has it strenght and it all depends how you use it.

The 1st othing Ilike is the KB of course, where TS had replaced my old 6 years old Dell inspiron as a device for me to browse, FB, Twit etc. Is easy when I lie down on my bed with the dock as it behave like a netbook for me. Try holding a tablet long enough,you can feel the weight become an issue. Also, I cant change my habit to type  a lot and faster without a KB.

The 2nd thing is the weight, Iconia is really heavy. Nice outlook etc, but it is heavy. How frequent do i need to use the USB on the tablet? Well, not much really. Especially for Android. Maybe can use it to watch movie etc which again you need it tostand or else holding it i a pain, the casing that could stand is a great idea. then u need the battery to last too.I mean I asked my self again, do I relly need to watch movie that long on an 10".Well, maybe for my kid and then again, the KB that could provide extra bat live is a good idea, further more it actually charge your tablet when you connect it to the dock. Is like transfering battery from your dockto tablet. Very interesting.

I actually reply and type this now using my Asus TF. Dont get me wrong guys the above comment is mearly my on personal preference and usage. I want something to replace my reading & typing habbit before I sleep and also a 3rd device for my to enjoy with my son on those great games when we go out.

If you just need a 3rd device to fill up any gap you have now, Iconia is a good idea too. The weight could be a problem for some people, some may have better hand to hold or get those casing that could stand. But if you want a 3rd device only, wait for the Samsung 10.1 also... very sexy device.
