Singapore prices is overly expensive - listed on box is S$ 999 ( RM 2410 ) but they put it on sale at S$ 799 ( RM 1933 ) . Msia officially price is only RM 1599 - at Senq is at RM 1499 plus acer sleeve case and 2 years warranty
Their pricing is OK for S'poreans/PR who earn Spore $$$ but not for us

Just put your SD card into those USB SD card reader and plug into the iconia USB port. This is how I copy all my photos which is in a full size SD card over to the iconia

Just google for you in forum lowyat : Use this is as a guide and modify the steps accordingly to setup account. I have friends who follow these and read Kindle ebooks on their smartphones. Try it yourself - if you have issues ask the TS as he is very helpful guy. He might not be able reply you immediately as he is always on air ( he is a pilot with MAS )

But I do believe these cases price will drop over the next 2-3 months and with more choices. The one I bought probably will sell US$20 and PDAir ones US$50 ??? However I don't feel secure with it naked. I always maintain my stuffs in day one condition, so even though still pricey - get it first for protection and easy usage standing it up on a case

This market problem is due to firmware not updated yet and also is related to Google's recent release of paid apps market to 131 countries. I'd think it will take at least few more weeks before these issues are settled. And is mainly on Honeycomb OS. If you go to EEE Pad Transformer thread, many of such complains of not able to download apps, if can download cannot be installed in your country messages etc. So far I read that only XOOM users has minimal issues with these, probably XOOM is the first manufacturer to work directly with Google ( analogous to NexusOne and Samsung Nexus S ) who will get all immediate updates first

Some forums , even at Lowyat EEE Pad thread , has proposed to replaced the /system/build.prop file with Xoom. Yesterday, I took the risk and I use Root Explorer to access the file and make the about 10 changes to its various properties based on Xoom/Verizon. It doesn't really work after test on a few apps but apparently it improves the installation success. I have this morning, revert back to the original Iconia's properties

However I do find it strange , that we using the same hardware faces different problems. Example I have no problems downloading and installed Flash Player 10.3 and Angry Birds on the first day I have the Iconia while some users do complain ( not only here , in other forums too ) they are unable to do it all. I see the same scenario in the EEE Pad official thread - some can and some just cannot
Temporary we can use MarketEnabler or MarketAccess to fake telco to download - but your Iconia be rooted. This is however not a complete solution as I still see some apps " cannot installed in your country". Example Busybox - yesterday what I did, I download it from market.android.com on my computer and it was immediately send to the Iconia ; the iconia detected this, downloaded it and the app was installed

I have also tried to use FreeVPN but not too successful - I could get it connected but the connections just keeps on circling -- so I give up trying

Finally do a cleanup exercise : Settings/Applications/Manage Applications - browse to Market and select Clear Data and Clear Cache - it might help

Youtube performance is excellent. There is no lag; any lag is due to network streaming. Even though officially stated the Iconia do not support 1080p videos - I could play some of such videos well - the resolution and the graphic details were excellent. Guys - test yours on this :

If you see app superuser in menu than is rooted . Is very simple to root just use gingerbreak 1.2 n lock tab in portrait mode doing it

Sygic Aura works very well but the lower menu buttons partially hidden

Crashes are usually due to 3rd party apps especially apps from dubious/ahem sources. Android after ver 2.2.2 ( froyo), Gingerbread and Honeycomb is now very sensitive to such. Previously you rarely hear of apps force closiures, phone auto reboot on Froyo 2.0 and below

Anyway to answer your question, mine is rooted too and I do not face such issues. Rooting will not affect and cause such

I tested zoom n eee pad before decided on iconia mainly due to its full usb n 32gb

USB external harddrive must be FAT32 formatted nd in one single partition ; my 320gb was detected well
If your drive is NTFS than you need to apply a tweak - I have posted it several pages back

You can use most USB keyboard or any bluetooth keyboard
I am not interested in keyboard as if I want to carry a keyboard might as well take out my MBA 11" which can do more stuffs
The connector is for a dock - you can google acer website to see the dock , pretty useless i find

I am not rich - is just a hobby. A lot of people spend even more money than me on other expensive hobbies - eg playing golf, clubbing, flashy sports saloons, fine dining , overseas vacations etc . I don't smoke, don't drink, don't patronize karaoke or nightclubs, no fine dining at expensive restaurants, drive a small car, don't buy branded clothing or shoes, watch most 2-3 movies a year, vacation once every 4-5 year only .
So the money I save I use it for my hobby . I budget about RM 5000-10,000 a year on gadgets - this is the cost/loss I will incurred when selling off or tradein . At an average RM 500 to RM 1000 loss per gadget I can buy/try up to 5 to 10 gadgets a year.

When I am out, I always bring my SGS II and the Tab only. On outstation trips , the Iconia is in the bag
