QUOTE(knighthood @ May 27 2011, 02:44 PM) QUOTE(brotan @ May 27 2011, 02:48 PM) I PRAY that it is Exynos! Tegra can eat my (droppings) as it encourages closed source proprietary standards and apps...... and seems buggyI told my friend about Tegra in general (Interested in buying S2) he like very discouraged by to buy this phone...... cos back then somebody said it will come to Malaysia with Tegra I was wondering, for all you guys there who have an European set, can you do a OTA update like HTC phones? Or still must depend on the buggy Kies / stable but for geeks only ODIN ? Asking cos S1 and Ace must use PC to flash firmware......... Can't OTA..... I know people here mostly are not the type who will wait for an OTA, but I'm asking... cos I'm not buying the gorgeous device.... My friend is... He first time Android user coming from Symbian S60.... His Nokia X6-00 just died....... But he wanted to buy new phone even before his X6 die cos it was too laggy for him........... Only a year old his X6. |

QUOTE(ventrilocks @ May 27 2011, 05:09 PM) really? i didnt even restore factory setting...do i need to do that in order to see the battery improvement? well it's a good thing to practice a factory setting reset after flashing.. one of the reason is to make sure none of the issue u have from previous rom is carry fwd to the new rom..however, i believe there is no need to do that.. flashing via odin is simply the same as OTA updates in other android (for eg: nexus, htc) and the updates are design to apply all the changes without having a need to reset / wipe the device.. even major updates via OTA like from eclairs to froyo, or froyo to gingerbread, doesn't need wipe at all.. QUOTE(InF.anime @ May 27 2011, 05:16 PM) you can either use backup pro which is more beginner friendly or titanium backup which has more settings.QUOTE(troy13th @ May 27 2011, 05:19 PM) Hello everyone, very interested in this phone, can tell me to get one with best price arr?? It is a good standard practice to hardreset one time before using new phone. It is I would say a highly recommended step once you flash a new rom or firmware. Restoring previous backups of apps/data through mybackuppro or titanium backup just take 10 mins so no big issue. This is always my practice in even windows mobile
Treat hard reset as a final cleanup before you install 3rd party apps |

So should I root, backup and then flash f/w, factory reset, then restore backup? |
