Rooting is not a must but it allows u to have a full control of your hp such as moving files around in the phone's sytem .... Easier way to put it , take SGS2 as a comp . Without root , u can only access a certain files in c:\ just like how u use a computer in cybercafe while with root , u have the whole access to everything in a c:\........ However , if u r not much into doing anything to customised your hp like changing your battery icon , font size , startup animation etc . . . . , u can forget about rooting as it doesn't do much

For wallpaper , get 1 that is for your hp's resolution . Your wallpaper will appear small as it is not 4 the screen's resolution . Try dling SGS's wallpaper . Another option to use your wallpaper of your choice is to go to makret and dl an app called "multiPicture Live Wallpaper " , once installed , look under " Live Wallpaper " .... From there u can set different wallpaper for your screen or u can load a whole album for it to change from time to time .

R u in a car or outside under a clear sky ? Some car tints make the GPS reception very weak , even a Smart Tag is not able to be detected . The good thing is such tinting is very good under a hot sunny day

Fastefix works for SGS2 ? Havent tried it but it didnt work for 2x and there was a big " huuhaa " over it in XDA .
Another method is by using " Root Explorer " , navigate to system/etc/gpsconf ..... Open the file under " Open in text editor " and change the NTP_SERVER = my.pool.ntp.org ( source)..... " Save and exit " while your original file is saved under "gpsconf.bak " ... Reboot .... 5 sec for indoor locking compared to 1 min b4 editing the file

Try testing outside your car , if its working and locking fast , means your tinting is giving problem , not your device

Ya right ..... Trust me , its not so durable , manage not 2 scratch but cracked mine on the Streak . Or , the screen is intact but the LCD beneath cracked

+1 .... If u r good with Odin , Jig is avoidable as it not needed at all unless its a very very serious case ( cant reset counter of course )

A fren of mine got his N8 this way b4 ..... Same as what u said , pay to western union to show u got money , receive the parcel and then release the payment ... Prob is , halfway in the middle , when u r about to receive the parcel , he will tell u to make payment to collect it . His reason is by the way , he will know u r gonna pay him , not running away after u take the parcel . He will then give u some BS assurance like he already trusted u by sending it to u without payment from u , y cant u trust him back , blablabla . So , for most ppl , parcel in the courier company , shows that he is genuine seller . So my fren release the fund to him and he went and collect his N8 after the seller release the parcel to him once he receive the payment ..... Ya , nice price actually , RM700 for a N8's box with stones

U need to backup everything coz after a hard reset , your hp is back to what it is when u receive it , empty .
