Those cheap yonex rackets from auctions is it cloned one?
I am a beginner, how to get a racket which is suitable to me, how to choose?
Or simply buy one then learn from that?
*
best suggestion is to try out friend's racket and see if u like it. find out the specs and decide if those are the characteristics u want.

i'm still having the same issue, I used an old yonex racket of which i cannot find the specs, so i bought a second hand racket from a friend which has what i believe has the best characteristics for a beginner's racket. even balance, medium stiffness.

u play mostly doubles or singles? doubles better with even balance racket so u can defend better, with singles heavier head would be more suitable i think.

QUOTE(JonYeap @ Jul 3 2011, 10:23 PM)
pls dont simply buy. if possible, get something that is not too crappy.
if u on budget, then apacs would be a good choice.
rsl would be not too bad as well.
how much is ur budget?
for beginner, we advise not too stiff racket and maybe head heavy?
*
head heavy i scared arm not strong enough, cannot handle long playing hours, and also not easy to maneuver. but more smash power, i feel like getting a head heavy racket just to see nice or not, or i can handle it or not. still a beginner sad.gif

all the time double, dun really know how to smash well yet, mostly drop ball and hit front behind and left right spot only...

is this consider control? and which kind of spec suit control playing style, and still confuse about spec.. is there any guide about spec?

its hard to choose,i just bought Victor SuperWave37,its spec is Even Balance and Medium Stiff ,but i feel it a bit stiffer than my Carlton Aerosonic X-833 GLO(same spec as SW37), different brand got different spec/measurement of their stiffness and grip size, wink.gif

not sure, but if i use stiff racket,my hand will hurt, now using medium flex ( stiff ooo0o flex ) or medium ( oo0oo ),its a scale from 1-5 tongue.gif

i think its still best to borrow friends racket to test and see if u "ngam" with the specs of the racket.
If u cant do so, then the safest bet would be medium flex, and balanced head.
just to be on the safe spot...
beginner using head light, i doubt u gonna generate enough power. too stiff, later u cannot handle.
too high tension also u gg.com. so safest bet i still would consider medium flex, balance head and also string tension around 22-25

That's what I heard too and I think it is correct.

Imagine a trampoline, if the diaphragm is too hard, you can't bounce as high.

But then with lower tension you lost control and that affects your placement of the shuttles.

Around 20 lbs to 23lbs should be ok for higher repulsion. laugh.gif
