check the config.ini again!
*
Owh, I found out a way already. I set everything to EXTREME in the config.ini and I set the file to "Read Only". So, the computer can't auto change the settings for me..

Tried the benchmark, can see lower FPS....82 FPS for the battle between Yun and Yang

75 FPS for the battle between Evil Ryu and Oni

but in game, I dont see any graphic difference lol

really awesome.. the QUAD really  thumbup.gif clever lah u.. tick the read only! got different when u on gameplay u will notice the graphics flash not so smoother with EXTREME mode! u slow c.. & how's ur temp? thanks!
*
But I think like what Cowithgun said, the highest settings for textures and others are "highest"...if put extreme also no difference...

i dont really mind about the temperature....cause i dont play games very long...if open SSF4AE, usually play 10 minutes only

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Jul 11 2011, 12:11 PM)
@wilsonphua: hopefully some Asus N series with 550M can benchmark this as well. Some of them already OC their GPU and had pretty good result.
*
The N53SN users can overclock GT550M to reach GT555M? If can, very nice laugh.gif

Has anyone tested The Witcher II using this GPU yet?
*
GT540M definitely cannot run this game. I've seen some Youtube videos showing desktop cards running this game.

Example, the desktop GTX460 and HD5850 running this game at low frame rate on extreme settings...

But Cowithgun tested this game on his laptop, I think I've seen the gameplay he recorded

Let me bump into this old topic of mine. I've uploaded 3 new gameplay videos.

Dirt 3, Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, Assassin's Creed 2!

Remember to watch in 1080p HD! (I don't know why there's an option to watch my videos in 1080p HD, I'm only running the games at 1366x768, not 1920x1080 doh.gif )

Is there any performance patch for The Witcher 2? coz i'm getting similar fps at Medium and High setting. doh.gif
*
I haven't tried The Witcher 2, heard its a very heavy game, I think cannot run with my laptop lol.

Btw, I'm impressed with your HD6770M performance, can run Crysis 2 hardcore at highest resolution lol. Mine can only run at Gamer/High settings at 30 fps only.

Btw, your witcher 2 how many FPS indoor and outdoor?

GeForce GT 540M 1GB Vs GeForce GT 540M 2GB so big different ma?
*
No different at all actually. It's a market gimmick.

This fact can be proven by playing Grand Theft Auto 4.

In the Graphics Options, it shows the "Resource Usage"

I played just now, it shows "265MB / 2GB". Its only using 265MB of my GT540M 2GB. I think its like that la.

The framerate in The Witcher 2 ranging between 15-45 fps.  sweat.gif

Btw, this was recorded with Catalyst 11.5b. The performance in The Witcher 2 get better in Catalyst 11.6 and pre 11.7.
*
Yeah, no wonder people say its a heavy game. Even desktop graphics have difficulties running it on extreme

but your gameplay video looks beautiful though

CrossfireX Dual HD5870M, of course you need to always update the driver and crossfire profile
to get the best experience in gaming. smile.gif

*sorry for getting off-topic.
*
Waa...Crossfire gpu for less than rm5000, you must be very lucky. thumbup.gif

I have to wait for another 5 years to graduate and buy one for myself. Sad cry.gif

QUOTE(HIM @ Jul 17 2011, 06:52 PM)
so do you mean no point  buying A43SV-VX073V?
The performance will be like  A43SV-VX053V ?
*
I'm not sure about Asus products.

But you see, there are some benefits and advantages of buying Nvidia GeForce GT540M with 2GB memory.

First, you get better performance when playing games on external monitor. (That's what other people say)
Secondly, you get to show off your 2GB, cause people will think "wow, GT540M 2GB! Must be powerful than Nvidia GTX460M 1.5GB!" But actually, its not..

Its not for better performance. Its just to reduce bottleneck for not having enough vram when using all the AA, AF, ultra high texture on high resolution screen.
But before you worry about the lack of memory, can your GPU handle the game at those settings?
*
Then, I understand. Don't think a card like GT540M can run games in external monitor with high settings, already suffer at native resolution already

QUOTE(hidz7 @ Jul 17 2011, 08:08 PM)
haha yeah quite lucky. laugh.gif
I work over the summer to buy this one myself, I'm still a student as well.
Don't feel bad, you'll get a better gaming system in the future. smile.gif
*
No wonder...u study in UK? people say the salary is very high for part time in other country, many ppl work during summer

hey guys...

wat setting do u use on Fraps???

coz the file is kinda big when i record the vid
*
Yeap, its really big. You need to compress it. Its either you use VirtualDub or Windows Live Movie Maker.

VirtualDub = Can compress 4GB video to 50MB (quality sucks shit)

Windows Live movie Maker = Can compress 4Gb video to 200MB (quality is still good, being shown in Youtube as 1080p Full HD)

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Jul 18 2011, 11:53 AM)
Here is some screen shots of Witcher 2 in out-door with everything disable / minimal running at 1366x768 using OC (770/1110):

*warning: full size*

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

There are many settings can be enable such as Bloom, DoF, Vignette, Motion Blur, etc which if combine will take 1 or 2 FPS. The only setting that *cannot* be enable / high is UberSampling, AA, SSAO and Shadow Quality. Those hurt FPS a lot.

Those are for ATI 5650 card anyway. Higher end card are excluded of cause.  smile.gif
*
This reminds me of playing GTA4. Settings all low but Frame Rate only 40FPS. The graphics not that nice....thats why im not really into these kind of games liao..

+1 play black ops already not smooth.. no need said witcher 2 & gta 4!
*
You need patch bro.

I got two edition of Call of Duty Black Ops.

One is ciplak. Another one is RM160 original Steam.

The ciplak one without patch is super laggy.

The original one, I can get more than 60FPS (always constant 75FPS) in multiplayer, and 40FPS - 60FPS in single player

My settings:
Res = 1366x768
Texture = Ultra
MSAA = 2X (off in single player)
Anisotropic = Max
Shadows, shaders = off
others all max

GTA IV has an absurd requirement, especially for CPU. A lot of desktops have problems running it smoothly.

Haih, still havent ask my dad about buying the Asus 1015B.

need to bring a netbook to the library and online lol laugh.gif

*
No improvement on gaming performance.

Btw, i wanna know how many Frame Rate (FPS) do you get when playing in the multiplayer maps

Interested to get this game, and wanna know its benchmark for upcoming Battlefield 3

I sent you a pm already

Upgrading the RAM will not increase the performance, 4GB is more than enough for gaming. Maybe if you want to decrease the loading time, you can upgrade to a faster HDD.smile.gif
*
Got two options to increase performance.....overclock or Vidock DIy..

Agreed with the Black Ops patches. The Jack Sparrow version runs like molasses, my Steam version is pretty smooth.

Maybe you should save for the 1015B instead? laugh.gif
*
Still thinking though. I'm scared its like an impulse buy. Cause I'm always like this. If I feel like buying a digital cam, i want to buy it quickly...but this time, i'll wait for another few weeks to see if i really need the netbook to spend my free time in the uni library....

directX 11 enabled

that all i think...
sorry cant give u the screen shot of my setting...oredi uninstall it juz now XD
FPS is juz playable...i think the average is 25-35
it dropped when there's fire....

your setting?? FPS??
*
25FPS isn't that playable for me. I can only take minimum 30FPS

My settings are 1366x768, Texture High, environment details high, others all low....around 30 - 40FPS

QUOTE(hidz7 @ Jul 19 2011, 10:02 PM)
Well, you can overclock the GPU provided it is in safe limit and temperature.
But diy Vidock, imho is not very practical, you might as well buy a desktop instead. smile.gif

Desktop also expensive....lol

Hi all, I plan to buy a Dell Alienware M11x R3, that comes with Dual graphics with Intel HD Graphics 3000 and 2.0GB DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, and it comes with HDMI 1.4. So, my question is, can I connect an external stereo 3D monitor (120Hz) throught the HDMI 1.4 and will I be able to do 3D gaming using a 3D active shuttle glass?
*
I'm not sure about the HDMI thing. and I doubt the Alienware M11x R3 is sufficient enough to run 3D gaming using 3D glass....have to ask others Mobile Computing elite members to clarify about this....

why not you buy Alienware M14X, or use the money to buy a normal laptop with Nvidia Gt540M or maybe Nvidia GT555M/GT550M in Asus laptops? No 3D btw
