Its either your Sudden Attack is running on your Intel HD, or the game connection is bad (I played this game and Black Shot before, the screen lags because of a sudden spike in the connection)....maybe you could try other newer games like Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops..Sudden Attack graphic is too low..

4830TG battery life is long.

But i heard if play games too much with 4830TG, might spoil the laptop battery. Since the battery is integrated or smth like that, the great heat produce might spoil it...is it?

first batch really need to change the whole laptop...or change the motherboard...

no...that effect is long term...and if air con room, no problem..

so, has your friend solved his laptop problem? Faster ask him send to the shop before the warranty ends. Once the warranty ends (1 year), everything will be useless...maybe they can help to detect the problem and fix it

Verde Driver v275.27 for Nvidia Mobile Graphic Cards works very good. I can see a lot of improvement in FPS. Although it's under Beta version, you can take risk downloading and installing it.

That should be Alienware M14x. Yeah, can play really high settings, but if you wanna play Star Craft 2 on ultra settings with a constant framerate of 60 fps and above, you need at least a desktop graphic card or a mobile laptop GTX cards.

but when change the shader, lighting, shadow settings to medium or high, the fps drops tremendously to 40FPS, sometimes go below 40

actually there's no point running a game on ultra settings...i'd rather play it at higher resolution without shadows and motion blur.

You can't really consider a laptop with Nvidia GT540M as a "gaming laptop". Gaming laptops are those with GTX cards (in my opinion). But yes, the GT540M is good enough to run latest games at medium settings at high resolutions.

2GB and 1GB make no difference actually. The Nvidia GT540M is a mid range card and it won't utilise the whole 2GB of it. 1Gb is more than enough. It's a gimmick and a trick made by laptops company. (I got this information from youtube and from this forum )

yeah, i personally think that the performance of this card will be the same on both laptop brands. Maybe Sony will perform better cause it comes together with a better core i7 card. And the price of Sony is expensive cause of its build quality.

Maybe cause it has Blu Ray reader and Full HD.

RM8999 can buy Alienware M17x

or can build a gaming desktop with GTX570 for Battlefield 3!
