what if i say some shops selling "VAIO" brand hdd casing (Ext) as a part of Sony...and they claim that its from Sony and priced it at >RM80 too. ?
*
from my understanding..

imitation is fine.. as long as u use ur own brand..

but claiming that ur look-fake-stuff as original and sell it at near original price is totally unacceptable..

for external hdd casing, to me, that VAIO brand is totally fake la.. not from Sony one..

err guys..

imitation is not fake right ?

from my understanding...

imitation = they tiru the design/idea/technology only, but use their own brand

fake = use branded name and claim that it is original..

in short, imitation is a normal business practices.. but fake is crap..

Imitation - design - varies from original (must above 75%)
idea ( usually the same concept)
technology ( same concept / function)
Brand name, of course 100% own, but some very daring, up to 95% of the original item, so its call FAKE

Correct me if Im wrong.. biggrin.gif

wow...this is a good thread....but if i'm not mistaken, the seller cannot sell 'fakey/replica' in this forum rite?? so how they gonna inform the buyers??....hmm...for me if the 'fakey/replica' is cheap...then can accept la...if sell at the same price...it is too much....coz in chinese words i learn from my friend, 'u pay for wat u get'....

i think i suggest the sellers to verify the item they wanna sell with the MOD b4 they can open a bulk....will that be ok?? its not the best solution but at least better than nothing....i hope the MOD can do a little bit more extra job...so the forumer can live happily ever after here....eheheh

another thing....i see there is less 'good and reliable' seller around....and seldom see good bargains....too bad....

but there is attitude in this forum that i dun like much....like if there is anyone in trouble or conned, everyone is like rushing in the thread and flame here and there without waiting the seller to explain....hehehe....(report report....jaga tidak report polis)....

i'm replying this thread just to give my opinion....if it sounds like 'BS'...then i'm sorry...but again...everyone got their own brain and got different thinking....y not share it to make this forum a better place to trade and stay....

Cheers to LYN~~

p/s: if i write something wrong here, pls forgive me ok....i'm not the one who like to be flame.....takut panas kata-kan

We all know those advertised "OEM Sony Mouse" are fake, not only fake brand, but the advertised 800dpi is bulls*it, i've brought one and the resolution is far from that. I have a 620dpi and 800dpi a4tech mouse and the "OEM Sony" mouse don't even have a resolution that's near to 620dpi. In my experience, running 800dpi resolution can be quite uncomfortable to the wrist,it strain the wrist too much from the higher precision needed to move the mouse, even when your screen resolution is 1280x1024. So if your "800dpi OEM" mouse is not any faster than your typical optical mouse, most probably it's fake.

And yet many sellers subscribed to the excessive usage of the word "OEM". Let's make things change for once. Many uninformed buyer had been misleaded. We all know who the sellers are, but none of us are willing to stand up and say something.

i think the proper wat if u meet a fakey supplier is to ask Gavlim to warn him and ask him to stop selling....

i think it is not proper to shoot him down....flaming here and there....coz u might not know that he is maybe one of the reliable seller but just got the wrong stuff to sell...ehhehe....

i'm not siding anyone but it is proper this way...it will end up peacefully.....

sumtimes its a 'premium item' for the brands. for example, HP can ask china factory to print HP name on 1000 mouse. These mouses are used as 'premium' gift to customers. it doesnt mean HP make these items.

sometimes HP can reject the shipment so china have to dump the shipment to 3rd world countries (us!!!) cheaply to recover the loss.

its very normal for china to make a good quality 'show sample' then when mass shipment the quality is bad.

majority people won't buy a RM1k+ iriver mp3 player.....so imitation one will get the market share easily...bottomline, if the product is way cheaper than the market price....u should know either is a imitation or original...

there is no 'fake' watch, but an 'imitation' watch
there is no 'imitation' eye, but a 'fake' eye

First of all, try to understand what i'm trying to say before you shoot me.

IMHO, i think it's okay to sell fake item to people, IF you dutifully let your buyer know what you're selling is not the original item (not by using the word OEM). Some people still choose to buy fake item because of the huge price difference.

It's a crime if you don't tell the truth to your customer, what they are getting for their money. In this case, even real item sold can have misleading advertisements. For example, let's say i have a PalmOne Zire 31 for sale, and i say that it's built-in Wifi, (in case you don't know, it doesn't come with Wifi), then i'm cheating the customer, right?

bottom line: We should not ban fake items, it's been around us for such a long time it's impossible to curb their inflow.A simple quiz, how many of you are using real Windows XP there? (No, i'm not saying you're using fake Windows XP, but you get my idea). The only thing we need to do is to make sure the buyer know what they're buying. It's different thing to buy a "water" item and a fake item.

THOSE SONY RECHARGABLE BATTERIES AND THE SUPER QUICK CHARGER ARE THE THE THE GREATEST FAKE OF ALL!!!

And i hate to get excuses from the seller saying that "I didn't know dude cos i didn't test the product. My distributer told me that it is ORIGINAL".

Can we have a rule that every claimed to be ORIGINAL products by the seller be tested by one of the LYP heads? That way we all can be quite a bit secured i think. So seller too has no more excuses of for any UN-satisfied buyer.

Peace! And sorry for the caPitol letters. I guess i just spent RM183 for "SONY" batteries and charger for nothing!

Sigh....!
