hmm. would they work with blues n stuff too? anyway im more into playing pop rock stuff that ain't too heavy. and at the moment my ltd sounds pretty brutal, but that could be because of my amp too, im using a 15 watts Line 6 spider III.
and the EMGs are active pickups right? i don't really understand the difference of active and passive pickups. active pickups use batteries or something like that right?

Active Pickups outputs more power, which means you'll need more juice...... that's where the battery comes in.
Yes, I use my EMG LP for Blues and Jazz too........ but that's because the LP has a nice warm sound to it in the first place. Smack them in say, an RG and it could have a totally different effect.
Remember, pickups only ENHANCE your sound, not completely change it.

Can a S-S-S 60th Anniversary American Stratocaster modified into H-S-H pickup configuration on an American Stratocaster... basically the body it self have the hole to fit H-S-H just that the top cover is come with S-S-S what if i cut it so that it will fit humbucker pickup? will it harm full to the performance? Assume that i make it neatly.
I have all the equipment to do the modification just need some advise if i can do all this modification.

Any solution for this? and I use roland cube 15x Mostly caused by single coil...when your pickup selection at position 1 and 3..you'll get the noise...when your position at 5 (Humbucker) noise will disappear or less...it's oso will help when position at 2 and 4...

But I dont really understand how they works; meaning long sustain, active pickup, etc. It just the matter I read in the internet about the setting of EMG's. Now, I had been thinking grab a cheap guitar (currently eyeing for strat copy) and replace with new pickups. Is it possible to obtain sound like I put last time on my Viper? I am more on metal stuff, rhythm part to be specific, when I am playing alone. I love Behringer UM300 Ultra Metal & US300 Ultra Shifter/Harmonist to be combines with my new guitar setting. Btw, I jammed more on Muse's stuff with friends. Any idea? This post has been edited by shiinkuro31: Sep 11 2009, 09:39 PM
