yeah. i just found out that you can use DC batteries to power up AC amplifier, but it must have greater voltage. so 12V DC can be used to power up 9V AC speakers. i have not tried this, but you can read the articles in other battery-powered speaker instructables... just read the comments section.

sweat.gif You... serious?? The thing here is that AC is 60Hz. When you run in DC, there's no frequency as the current never alternate and that means a really high frequency in AC. Anyway, just my understanding. Btw, I haven't learn how to convert DC to AC in my electrical/electronic engineering. Hmm...

Oh... A transformer... But... Will the magnetic field changes for flux to produce??? hmm.gif

at first i didn't believe it'd work. then i look at another simple 2.0 battery-powered speaker. most of them runs on 9V AC (~ sign) transformer. yet can be powered by 9V battery. lol i read some comments saying it should work better with 12V DC. so well, i just assume it'd work.

when i'm back in hometown im gonna hook it up to my M3300 amplifier which demands 12V AC transformer. see if it can works. if it didn't. im gonna update the article. haha
*
Even if it does work, how you gonna supply >12V DC? Car battery?? biggrin.gif
Btw, M3300, 41W RMS, how long can your battery last? rolleyes.gif
Car battery may last quite long though nod.gif

DC to AC you need a frequency generator to generate 50hz frequency and step it up with a transformer. You can refer to switch mode power supply.
M3300 requires dual power supply like most amplifier design, which means +12  0 -12. You need to check the amplifier is single supply or not before you can hook it up directly with battery supply. If I didn't not remember wrongly, old Altec Lansing speaker is using 12V single supply, I did hook it up with RC car 9.6V battery pack before and it works nicely.
*
I'm referring to something like this

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...r_ckt_01cjc.png

This should work, and perhaps simpler design. With the switch switching at a frequency of 50Hz should be able to convert dc to 50Hz ac. But... how well can it be? Efficiency? laugh.gif
I need to learn more doh.gif doh.gif

R2500 - Studio 5

and many-many more headphone series

P series quite some time d.

Can't seem to find R2500-Studio 5 online. Monitoring speaker?(bookshelves??)
Lol. R88 design is weird. Not edifier-alike blush.gif
M1370 port design also quite weird. Lol...
R101 is 1360 successor?? Hmm... What's the difference between V and PF.

Edifier bought over Japan electrostatic headphone manufacturer Stax.

STAX electrostatic earspeakers are widely used throughout the world by discerning audiophiles, professional musicians, and recording companies to enjoy and monitor sound. This is because of the superb sonic quality of STAX electrostatic earspeakers. In general, better sound quality is available with earspeakers than with loudspeaker systems due to several factors.

Wow drool.gif drool.gif
Something special here with AMP
First time saw this kind of design is on AT but I can't seem to find the model or recall anything about what it's called. Said to be legendary laugh.gif

yes the R2500 is a 2.0 bookshelf speaker

here I type the specs out:
R 2500-Studio 5
Total Power Output: RMS 50W (25W x 2)
Calibrated flared bass reflex port, in front of speaker cabin
(O.o front ported)
Side mounted control panel with SD,USB,AUX input
Separate dedicated amplifiers for bass and tweeter drivers

didn't mention the size of the speaker drivers or the cabinet dimensions tho

will scan the pic and share it here if I am free XD

dunno bout the availability but there are many yet to be released here biggrin.gif
and I wonder where is the Edifier MP15 Plus? I want one lol tongue.gif

oh and the P series... I never get to test them fully with my favorite tunes. Today I get to test them so I consider it as a new experience.
*
Seems nice. Dedicated amp means built inside the speaker got dedicated like C3/HCS2330. Interesting. SD/USB/AUX drool.gif drool.gif

Yes.. I found it

but is by AKG, not AT

Regarded to be the best. No chance in my life to test it perhaps. doh.gif
Really old model though.

Stax featured in the review though. The reviewer mentioned.
So... when will new edifier branded headphone/earpeaker be released? drool.gif

Last PC fair, we got no choice because SG start the war first, they purposely used their so called Sonic Wall to boom our booth. We inform the organizer and organizer told us they can't do anything so we decided to put a Edifier Wall to boom them back.

This time, they told the organizer they don't want their booth close to us smile.gif
*
Lol... Anyway, this time PC Fair is rather boring. Less crowded, nothing new to see. Edifier booth quite many ppl though. May I went in the wrong time. No sardine feel=Not PC Fair. Walk in and out so smooth no need squeeze. Perhaps I got no more thing to grab too. nothing else I can get from edifier unless future upgrades.

But i didn't encounter this kind of problem from my previous similar earphones such as SE HPM-77 and another model also from SE forgot what code already... which also have similar rubber... btw what is IEM?
*
In Ear Monitoring (IEM)

Can describe more on the "clicking" sound? You stuff the IEM into your ear then it clicks? Or you put it on, you move/shake/nod your head it clicks? Try to check if the finishing is sturdy? I mean the is the earphone well assembled. How about the SQ? Any difference in both side?

SQ sounds ok... the clicking sound its like... U try to wet your finger and poke ur finger in to your ears and pull out(This is quite nasty description anyway) it is something close to that, I find the noise is so annoying, the previous ear phone does not have this problem and the left ear phone is doing fine as well. It sounds when u try to adjust/repositioning or push the earphone deeper in your ear...  rclxub.gif
I guess is a problem with the finishing...

Whenever I put in my left ear phone i feel comfortable (No matter which ear I put)  thumbup.gif , but the right one is just.... Annoying loud weird sound and uncomfortable feeling, feel my ears full with pressure  doh.gif

Btw new thing I found out about is, When I pull that problematic ear plug out, I feel its harder to pull and at the same time I can feel my ear drum its like being pulling out... how come?  shocking.gif Makes my ear so uncomfortable... One side got pressure one side dun...

PS: I've been using ear pump for more than 5 years since I own SE W700i They should have same pressure or same feeling for both side IMO... sweat.gif

Sounds like different sized silicon. Lol... May you double check that?
