Can take the much raved KOSS KSC75, it's rumoured to be the best clip phone you can find at that price. (some say it's better than certain headphones)

emm guys is cx300 a gud buy?thinking of getting one from ebay, since the bulk closed temporarily...
deciding between cx300 and ksc75, pls recommend either one for me...
one more qn, is canalphone uncomfortable?say, around 1 and half usage.and i heard canalphone can cause damage to the ear?lol dun wan to hav a ear sacrifice for music laugh.gif tongue.gif
*
I think original CX300 retail package would come with 3 or 4 sizes of plugs. So one of it would surely fit your ears. Canalphone can be very comfortable if the plug fits your ear canal, and you don't have to raise volume to listen to music because the sound goes directly to your eardrums and with passive noise filter.

hi...i plan to buy a headphone to go with my x-fi platinum. the phone will mainly use for gaming n listening to downloaded mp3s. right now using koss ksc75. my budget is RM300 or less. but if slightly higher might also consider if its really worth it. thanks alot....
*
You can try Sennheiser PX200, should be less than RM300 or Philips HP895 even cheaper. But then again, just listening to Mp3s... no need high end phones lah, KSC75 is just good enough. Until you listen to real music, then only invest the money for better ones smile.gif

anyone please help me, now i m thinking to buy an earphone. Now i hav 2 of them to choose,

1. Shure E3c
2. Sennheiser CX 300

Can anyone please tell me which one is better?

Acording to what i know, the price for Shure E3c is RM600 - 700 and Sennheiser CX 300 just RM 200++, both of the prize still havent been added with tax. So which one is better?

Besides, i also want to ask, in Malaysia where can i buy Shure E3c and Sennheiser CX 300?

Please help me. Thank you very much.
*
If you have the money of course take Shure E3c ... no need to think about CX300. Check the pinned topic to find where to buy.

Hmmm, i'm thinking of an ATH-W1000, alot have said it's an improvement over Sennsound in many fields, comments anyone?
*
I do believe that Alamaklor owned it before and even W5000 tongue.gif (ps: That guy is damn rich!!!) And also he owned a few Senns including HD650 , so he is probably the one and only guy in LYN that can give you accurate review about this.

I personally like it.

But then again,I don't own high end headphones so my verdict would be very subjective.

So I think it's good and all,the only thing to note is that it does sound rather, erm, analytical as some others put it.Or it doesn't sound as "fun" as some headphones/earphones sound.More of a clean/cold sound imo.

I of course don't dislike this or anythin, just thought those considering this earphone should know bout it smile.gif
*
So what type of music do you prefer using it to listen to ? Could it play bass tightly without boomy effect? How's the treble? Is it comfortable to put on for several hours?

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm going to spend this money, but I'm just asking in case I have an impulsive need to spend it sometime soon..

I have RM 500 with me.. what should I do with it?
I will be having : KOSS KSC75 and Philips Aurilium PSC805 soundcard.

I have been looking into :

Grado SR-60
Grado SR-80
Sennheiser HD555

Should I save a bit on the headphones, get a SR-60, spend on an amp too? If so what amp should I go for? Would this be suited for other brands of headphones/models too?

Or should I buy the HD555 straight with all that?

Or.. should I save up even more and go for HD595?

Or.. should I save up even mooreeeee and get an Aego M setup for my desktop? smile.gif

Oh yes, another thing here, is there anywhere I can read up on amps, compatibility of amps and what to buy for certain brands of headphones? I certainly don't have much money for trial an error, so your advice dear pros are kindly appreciated! Thank yous...~
*
With RM500, I recommend Alessandros MS1 over the 3 choices you were asking. And it's sold by our very own LYN member, mikechai. You can still save RM100 for a fairly good amp later smile.gif

QUOTE(ellimist @ Sep 16 2006, 02:20 PM)
And aurilium's headphone jack has a built in amp, right? tongue.gif
*
Yeah.. although not too powerful , but better than none biggrin.gif But if you have separate amp, better use the rear jack.

seriously I don't know if there's a clear winner if you compare both HD555 and MS1. All I could say, they should belong to the same league, but different sound signature.

I own a HD595, so if you compare HD595 to HD555, of course, there's no competition tongue.gif HD595 offers much greater soundstage and balance, even the midrange is much better. But they both have the same airy, easy-to-drive and sennheiser's branding clarity characteristic.

But from what I heard, MS1 on the other hand, is not so easy to drive, but gives more warmth and has Grado's line of rich midrange. Comfort wise I feel it's subjective, even if MS1 isn't as comfortable as HD555, it shouldn't be very unpleasant either. And I am saving up to buy Zhaolu + MS1 from mikechai in one go biggrin.gif BIG wallet hole coming !! By then, I can tell if the rumour is true or not smile.gif

Conclusion , HD595 > HD555 ~ MS1 ~ SR80

Thanks for the reply again Renovatio..

About the comfort issue of the MS-1, I've read in many places that I would be able to change the pads to the common yellow pads of the Senn 414s! Is that easy to do? Do they have a guide for that?

moreover, are the yellow pads easily available?~
*
Well I don't know how you are going to get the pads, maybe through Sennheiser seller like Davis. Comfort wise, you should ask mikechai or people in headfi.org

Do you have a say on the Audio Technica? smile.gif
*
Most of the reviews about audio technica are in Japanese, so I don't really know any reviews that I can recommend, and never ever heard any AT products before. You probably can ask in the AT fan club thread about this product or maybe AT's sound signature.

There's also another forum named primer that's selling CX300 and I think a bit cheaper than jensen's too. He sells in original packaging instead of OEM box.
