I wonder does in-ear/canalphones perform as they supposed to be? I'm thinking of getting a pair of budget in-ear/canalphones for my travelling use..

Currently using the earphones (I suppose it's EP-480, but in white) supplied with my Creative V200 which sounded good enough (abit less bass to my taste) in quiet environment, but totally useless while I'm on a bus unless I crank up the volume..

So I'm looking for advise on getting a pair of decently priced and sounding that blocks out environmental noise so I can listen to my music at a much lower volume.. smile.gif

You have to state your budget first  smile.gif  Probably you can get the OVC from the bulk order, if you're willing to spend RM150 on an IEM.. sweat.gif

I just noticed Etymotic Research IEMs can cost up to rm1k.. shocking.gif But heard that it lacks bass.. while Altec Lansing iM716 is some how 'similar' to ER's IEM with improvement to bass.. but can't seem to find it anyone bulking in garage sales section anymore..

OVC? I've seen it somewhere.. but forgot the review link already.. doh.gif any possible budget solutions? blush.gif

BTW, is it really true that u need to change IEM filters from time to time? rclxub.gif

Budget.. hmm.. maybe something not more than rm200.. rm300 is tops.. doh.gif no point spending too much coz I'm using it with my cheapo Creative V200 player anyway... whistling.gif

From the review, they say the OVC needs to be amped to bring out its full potential.. I don't have the intention to bring along a headamp since I carry a lot of luggage with me.. tongue.gif

Can't seem to find anyone still bulking it in the trade zone either..

how about iM716? still require headamps?

How to look for technical specification for mp3 players anyway? Want to find out what's the output specs for my Creative V200...

Wth, din I say I am bulking it ? sweat.gif Click my signature.

IM716 is more amp hungry than TC20 IMO. A 20 hour burned in TC20 is just good enough.

Oops.. didn't notice it... tongue.gif Must be the rm1k price tags that scared me from looking futher.. laugh.gif

OVC IEM, coming soon

Not yet available?

Wondering how does it sounds like anyway? I listen to a lot of R&B/Hip-Hop/Techno/Dance tracks.. I'd prefer something with more bass and warmer sound.. don't like it to sound too harsh (e.g. Aego M-ish laugh.gif).. tongue.gif

A few days can, pay me the cash as deposit la  tongue.gif
Listening mainly to hiphop, techno and dance?
I'd say dont bother wasting a few hundred on earphones then, i doubt a better sound quality would bring u more satisfaction
Getting a better player or something would make u happier  biggrin.gif

So what u say is sell my Creative V200 and get a new MP3 player and IEM?

maybe outta my budget already.. so willing to try getting IEMs first..

I don't always listen to those specific genres la.. but I'd prefer something that is softer/warmer sounding rather than in-your-face kind of sound..

BTW, does IEM's really capable of blocking out external sounds? Eyeing on getting a pair of OVA TC20's.. since it's the cheapest *sic* IEM's that I can found anyway.. tongue.gif

Gonna run it unamped though.. cool.gif

Either that or just save yourself the extra cash and do something else with it
IMO at least, those genre wont gain much at all with better earphones. Of course a decent one would be good, along the 100+ range
*
Well.. my main purpose of getting an IEM is most probably to block out external sounds (or so they claim to be) so that I can listen at a much lower volume when I'm on a bus..

Maybe I'll upgrade to a better player next time when I've got more moolah.. tongue.gif

So.. does IEM's really block out external sounds anyway..?

How would OVA TC20 users describe the sound anyway..? whistling.gif

Oh, all u want is isolation?
Then as i've said, a decent one which doesnt cost that much would be able to do the job

Yes it does, cheaper ones not as good as the Etymotics etc, but they still make quite a big difference

Oh.. that's good news.. should contact bro wallabies for futher info.. tongue.gif

I'm starting to get poisioned in this audiophile thingy already... sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif
