I have a security door, with the keys using the "gear" type...
how do i go about replicating this? I had like 6 keys... now only left with 4...
also, would it be possible to change the lock altogether? For safety reasons taht is..
should I provide pictures of the door or can you guys imagine what I am talking about?

QUOTE(hushymushy @ Jun 13 2017, 10:34 AM) Been awhile since I surveyed the latest design. Until the local manufacturers have rectified the 2 layer internal leaf security flaw....its best to go for 1 full solid leaf. Last time i bought Janus at 11k for front and kitchen. Front is 5feet x 8 feet high.... Kitchen 3feet x 7 feet. tq.

Security entryways are low cost of a purpose. they are finished typically to different entryways that may appear to be identical.

Did some survey on my own regarding the different brands of security door in the Klang valley.Doing renovation to my new home now. I found that its safer to get a solid piece of door without the middle part. Any opening in the middle esp if its stainless steel is not safe, unless the middle part is the same material as the whole door. Sometimes its better to get a good door though on the higher price. Dun want to save a bit now but pay a bigger price later when things happen.

QUOTE(ryuzaki_L @ Nov 2 2016, 05:54 PM) hi all, wanna ask are all security doors need to hack the floor/tiles to fit the frame? New edge doors sales person said that need to hack the tiles to fit the frame. No need to hack the floor tiles. I saw my friend's house using Janus door but didnt hack the floor tiles. Nice door

Nice door for New Edge doors, yes..u will need to hack the floor and also the sides and top too...coz ur existing doorway won't likely fit the new Frame..which is huge. New Edge doors have a bottom rail that sits under the floor.

I'm living at Penang. Have JEB for front door and THC for the rear. The JEB with 13 locks (with top lock) but not for the rear. My advice, avoid the one with the top lock as debris will come inside through the lock and could jammed your door from locking/unlocking. Quality-wise, THC is better than JEB but only at the decoration/design part. Both of mine are with laser-cutted. The THC is slightly thicker than the JEB. For the frame and door, they are similar. I got mine at fair at PISA few months back. Both doors are open inside. By default they are open outside and have to pay extra (RM150 each if I'm not mistaken). Front for good feng-shui but back to avoid blocking the road behind (the access road is for 'lori sampah' access). I read around from international pages, for public building, they are always open outside to cater for mob during emergency situation. For houses, we need open inside since the hinges are inside and thieves or robbers cannot get access. For open outside, the hinges are visible from outside and can be manipulated to detach the door (I think they have mechanism to avoid this).
