I like this Janus door .. After doing some surveys I finally opted for Janus too. Worth paying for it, you get value for money as one of my friends who has been using Janus for the past 8 years said.

I'm living at Penang. Have JEB for front door and THC for the rear. The JEB with 13 locks (with top lock) but not for the rear. My advice, avoid the one with the top lock as debris will come inside through the lock and could jammed your door from locking/unlocking.
Quality-wise, THC is better than JEB but only at the decoration/design part. Both of mine are with laser-cutted. The THC is slightly thicker than the JEB. For the frame and door, they are similar. I got mine at fair at PISA few months back.
Both doors are open inside. By default they are open outside and have to pay extra (RM150 each if I'm not mistaken). Front for good feng-shui but back to avoid blocking the road behind (the access road is for 'lori sampah' access). I read around from international pages, for public building, they are always open outside to cater for mob during emergency situation. For houses, we need open inside since the hinges are inside and thieves or robbers cannot get access. For open outside, the hinges are visible from outside and can be manipulated to detach the door (I think they have mechanism to avoid this).

From my survey, most locally produced doors have hinges which are visible whether they open inside or outside; whereas for Janus doors apparently , the hinges are concealed whether the doors open inside or open outside.I find that the security features in Janus doors are better.

There were known cases of break-ins with security doors though they were only known to people who works in the security door industry and also families/relatives/close friends of the victims. Otherwise, they weren't widely reported and publicized. Why are you asking about break-ins and problems regarding that 2 brands? I am currently surveying security doors options at the moment for my house and have so far learn a few things here and there regarding security doors.. You can PMed me if you want me to share what I have learned till now... biggrin.gif

Beware of lock snapping for Euro Profile cylinder lockset. This is the most obvious weakness I can't see with some security doors and grille. Thickness or strength of door all don't matter if the weak point is the lockset...

There are many kinds of Euro Profile Cylinder lockset in the market nowadays. Some security doors companies use cheap Euro Profile lockset while others use the latest and modern kinds. So when surveying for security doors, always ask what kind lockset they are using.. If they can't give you a satisfactory answer, then beware of purchasing their security doors. biggrin.gif

From what I have learned from one of the showroom I went and also from Google, Euro Profile lockset is very common in every doors around the world.. There are several kinds too from basic euro lock for wooden doors to advanced modern kind like pin-system lock with anti-drill.. The latter is the latest and modern kind... That's what I know roughly.. Not very knowledgeable in lock system laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
True, don't trust those sales people who praised their own doors till sky-high, talking about anti-burglary and all that.. When your house really got broke into, they will deny saying that and then comes out with all sorts of excuses.. Then that time, will really bangwall.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

Ya lo. Anyway from my own research the most standardized accreditation for Euro Lock thus far is the TS007 3 Star and the Lock Secure Diamond Standard from the UK. If the lockset got tested with this accreditation, they are supposed to be the best money can buy.
