hi, I have read the comment from 2011 to 2016 on this topic... really shock to know that none improvement in their management for 5 years?
Is it really still that bad now?? Any current Aeon employee can comment pls? It will be great if comment comes from HR personnel on this

I am not officially an employee there yet but i do have friends who used to work and currently still working there.
Overall, i heard more negative comments compared to the positive ones but regardless of what, each and individual has their own tolerance towards work.
Some may like it and some may hate it.

With the current situation now, i don't think anyone has the choice to be choosy with the opportunity. If you got an interview or being offered a job by this company, by all mean go ahead and try it. who knows that you might like it and this will be your solid career path in the future.

As for me, i'll be on board next month and hope that everything will be okay.

yes..they're moved to bangsar south last year in November. anyone know whether the company is recommendable to work or not. I received 2 offers (one from aeon) and one from another IT company. any advise which one i should choose?

Hi guys, is anyone working or worked as "strategic planning analyst" in Aeon? How was it as in job scope and working environment?

I writing this on behalf of my friend:

He work as a credit assessment assistant manager in personal loan for 8 month last year.

In the first month, his impression was quite good he said, the Japanese culture imbued. He has to attend monthly meeting with all the middle and top management and have to recite the core values of aeon daily. Heck, even the promotion criteria is supposingly exam based i.e. not by favoritism once get a promotion it seemed.

This change in the 2nd and 3rd month (his perception), he said the credit system used was severely outdated, it crashes often and pretty unstable. Worst of all, each time the system gave trouble, the entire credit team have to stay back to clear backlogs. Even weekends.

The promotion exam thinggy is a scam, supposingly one is suppose to go 2 stages of qualification, one is exam and the other interview. Of course have to pass the exam before qualify for interview. But it seemed some people there can also get promotion if the boss like them, so the exam thing is a total bullshit.

The target given is almost unachieveable unless one take "shortcuts" & ignore prudence and conservative approach in credit assessment. It is pretty much can give free money with minimal requirement. Moreover, his boss only side his own "skin colour". Also he is quite bias to others. What makes matter worst, the boss assistant is a sly fox, a old timer & been hanging around since the initial startup. She is more deadly than her boss & because she is so long there, whatever she said, the boss will most likely agree. What a total wuss.

After 3 month one can feel the depression on everyone's face working there. There is so little chance to see the sun like chicken in the coop purposefully for laying eggs. I felt so pity for him as his expression was from cheerful to gloomy after working there.

So after 8th month he was fired because he could not keep to the KPI. On one he felt sad but also happy as he regain some freedom. He work for Uber for a short while before landing in a better job this year.

ps. one thing he did also mentioned was that no staff in that department work more than 4 years and all his "similar skin colour" colleagues resign at the same month for their own reason only god knows.

I never thought this thread would be this long. Last time in 2014 I quit the job at this company and jump here and there then finally 2015 I'm joining my current company. It's a Japanese GLC in penang (manufacturing). The work culture and teamwork is very different with this company. Not all Japanese company as bad as AEON actually. Felt very secured and comfortable here with race ratio 30% Malay 30% Chinese and 40% others. Too bad just one indian working here.

As I grown up and gained experienced in Japanese company what I can conclude from AEON working culture is they're lack of professionalism and sense of improving employee's motivation. Last time I was scolded the whole day just because I came in 15 min late to work. The manager yelled at me until whole office silenced! I walked out of the room and everybody was just looking at me. Felt very useless. It was the first time ever I came in late to work. One week after I sent her 24 hours resign notice and I never regret. Just regret I wasted 6 months of my life at this kedai ah long company

May I know how's the working environment in Aeon Credit now? Is the culture still sucks? But I heard they enhanced the staff benefit ie revised the % epf to staff and other benefit.

Is there anyone that work at aeon subang jaya? Bcoz i get the offer and confuse whether to go or not after i read the past message..

I had a friend in which we used to work in the credit processing for an overseas bank. He was with the bank for 8 years before the left for this company also doing credit processing.

Before he left, he just got married and had a new born baby. Sad to say, less than 1 year after he left, he had a heart attack and past away on his way to work.
