Sauron76: nope, it is very easy to remove the minifig as the magnet brick is the same size as a 4x2 but it has a 2x1 plate in the middle which is where you stick the back legs of the minifigs so it looks like the minifig is standing on the brick unfortunately i have not mastered out the art of attaching pix otherwise you would be able to see what i mean kukubeh: it is a lot easier to get the minifigs from the magnet than the keychain - which is a lot harder due to the keyring attachment, no such probs with the minifigs. The best thing abt the magnet is that when you get bored of the same old fig - just change them

Getting Started

|
Well, i believe all new magnet sets (from mid 2011 [[starting from Pharoah Quest series?]] & above) will be glued. hence, detaching it from magnet base will be difficult.

my bad guys, sauron, kukubeh, cruiseantz, et al
i wasn't aware of the changes from Jan 2011 to glue minifigs to the magnets, a bit of a shame really. but the good thing is that from what i read, there will be markings to say that the figures are glued ie: feet to base and body to legs! my magnets were all pre-2011
also Sauron posted the link of how to remove them, makes for a nice read

Thanks Sauron for the link. It really helpful and that's the reason why i say i'm going for starwars magnet buying spree! lol.
