Need suggestion here. Speaker for computer. Mainly for gaming>music (clubbing music and music with heavy guitar and drums). Thinking of 5.1 or 7.1 but read somewhere, surround speaker are not suitable for music. Budget is rm500 but the less the better

QUOTE(power911 @ Oct 24 2011, 12:38 PM) not sure if Edifier C5 suits your budget or not. I rather lose the surround rather than the room shacker bass. Some of my friends recommend me Sensonic F6 but I know it's totally beaten by Edifier. So, between C5 and Z623, who's the best?if not then Logitech Z623 Surround speakers are not suitable for music mainly because: 1. many people don't know how to wire them properly and come back complaining only 2 speakers work while others doesn't. 2. not all surround speakers support 'stereo surround' 3. music is recorded in stereo and not 5.1 or 7.1 surround. even movies barely had any surround 4. by making stereo surround, you lose the fun of listening to music because you'll mix up the left and right stereo channels. correct me if I'm wrong but these are the most common stuff being told around here on why surround speakers isn't recommended for music Edit: Ouch... C5 cost Rm 649 at Lelong while RRP for Z623 are considerable. But I really like C5 features and looks. While Logitech seems ..... I don't know how to describe it. I'm afraid the sound won't be nice like it's look. Hehehe.. Just a stupid instinct. No offense. This post has been edited by diaBoliQu3: Oct 24 2011, 02:24 PM |

QUOTE(power911 @ Oct 24 2011, 02:28 PM) then go test them out Owh... I wonder where I can find these speaker in Miri or Kuching. All I can see is Altec Lansing and DiVoom that conquer the market. Sad. And I think Postage cost from Peninsular to Sarawak will cost a bomb who knows you might end up buying C5 instead of Z623. I personally thinks Z623 7" subwoofer isn't great. 7 inch subwoofer... that's gonna be hard to find replacements. |

Dear speaker Gurus, Lord and God. I need a guidance from above, left and right. And maybe from behind
My current setup and I think it will always be. Among all these choices: Budget ~RM300 Edifier HCS2330 (music) -popular Logitech Z523 (gaming) Budget ~RM400 Edifier R1900TIII (music) Edifier C3 (music, gaming) -popular Edifier S330 (music, gaming) -popular Edifier R501 MkII (gaming, movies) -popular Corsair SP2200 (gaming) Budget ~RM500 Logitech Z-2300 (gaming) -popular Logitech Z623 (gaming) Altec Lansing MX5021 (gaming) -popular JBL Duet II 2.0 (music) JBL Creature III 2.1 (music) Which one is the best choice for price to performance? I need a balance between gaming and music. For music, prefer heart @ balls punch bass with clear sound. And for gaming, I need the "surround" and clear sound. Currently using Sensonic F7. Nice sound in gaming but, Edit: 2.1 speaker only. Not interested with >2.1 setup. This post has been edited by diaBoliQu3: Apr 2 2012, 09:28 PM |

QUOTE(power911 @ Apr 2 2012, 09:52 PM) edifier is good and you can blast and still edifier won't die LOL... ah beng bass but if you want serious ah beng bass then Logitech Z623 I would recommend Altec Lansing MX5021 or Logitech Z2300 but they are both discontinued and nowhere to be found anymore. Corsair SP2200 looks nice but we cannot confirm it as many of us including me doesn't know how it sounds |

QUOTE(power911 @ Apr 2 2012, 11:59 PM) hmm... Forget to tell that I'm using on board sound card. It seems that I will pick Z623. If only C3 are more boomy than my F7. After some googling for sp2200, having issue with the bass are too loud and hard to find the sweet spot. Does Z623 having of this issue to? then you got Edifier C3 for a good real loud sound, louder than z623 if paired with good soundcard but the booms are definitely weaker than your sensonic, it's good sounding bass tho you also got R501 for the fun hey, 5.1 speakers are definitely one loud thing to go! but if you do not want surround setup just keep the 3 speakers for spare, that's what many ppl do however R501 had many flaws such as -only able to control with remote -subwoofer bass is a bit messy S330D is also a thing, but many said the trebles are just too much BTW, Let's say I push my budget to this par: Budget ~RM700 Corsair SP2500 (gaming) -popular Edifier S530D (music, gaming) -popular Edifier DA5000 Pro (gaming, movies) JBL Spyro 2.1 Which one will be the best? I'm kinda attracted to SP2500. A lot of positive comment. |

QUOTE(power911 @ Apr 3 2012, 06:57 PM) onboard soundcard is very ugly... no matter how expensive your speaker is... with onboard soundcard will ruin your music To be true, I didn't believe my own ear. Hehe... But you are right. Speaker ain't like other hardware that have benchmark. So, you changed my mind for not to buy sound card the soundsticks are just awesome I gotta say. but also, it's preference and it's mostly musical, not movie or games. you can buy it since it's not easy to find soundsticks for 699 there is also Creative Gigaworks T3 you can consider. The Corsair is good but I can't say much, just ask other owners I'm currently using the Edifier S530D and so far I'm very satisfied with it. but I don't think you can get it for below RM700 anymore Get the Edifier DA5000PRO or Edifier HCS5640 pretty legit stuff you can get for that price. all these stuff requires you to test with your own ears, so please do so, don't buy solely on reviews only. this isn't some hardware, you gotta experiment with it to know which suits you |

QUOTE(power911 @ Apr 3 2012, 07:23 PM) I think I'll go for Asus Xonar DX sound card. And for the speaker, maybe Logitech Z623 or Corsair SP2500, or might be HKS III depend on my budget. I really want to grab the HKS III but things that make me worry is I stay in wooden house, and I'm afraid it will influenced the output. While SP2500 are very big. |

And I wonder, how does down firing sub perform at cement floor? Is it better or worse than front forward firing? I dun get the meaning of 'influenced' lol liddat logitech will runtuh your wooden house lu... be careful wei dun call me lord... I'm no lord |

Anyone ever test both of these speaker, Harman Kardon Soundstick III VS Corsair SP2500?
I love blast my speaker when I play music and I love the boom2 bass. But I also love detail sound in gaming, I mean surround. I don't care too much for movies. I'm stuck here, totally stuck. Why I compare these two? Because I can get HKS III cheaper than SP2500. Hopefully anyone can guide me. Edit: I know some of you will say listen and feel but the thing is for now, I just need your opinion and thoughts. So please don't shoot me kay? QUOTE(LightningFist @ Apr 29 2012, 06:18 PM) I just got back with my harman kardon SoundSticks iii. Just. Wow. Wah.. HKS III. Past few weeks, I almost grab one unit from a forumer. He sell for RM 600, a "brand new" used unit. Just opened box, test for few times and warranty is from January. It's a gift from a friend. But the thing that stop me from buying the Stick is because some people say it's not that good in gaming. End up I'm buying myself Corsair SP 2500, and the sound, mmmphhh... Balance for music, gaming and movie. I fell in love for the first time I test the speaker. After that, a friend say that some of the Stick owner claim the speaker are not that durable. I don't know what does he mean but he said due to material to build the sub-woofer. Anyway, I just want to ask how does Stick perform in gaming? I know in music, it's superb... They have both looks and sound. Glad I found them even though they're not a new product. Afraid to put them too loud, don't want neighbours to come knocking. But useful if they're too loud and I need a distraction. Add: I saw a few reviews where people complained the volume touch controls were not sensitive, but mine are great. Only thing is the audio cable (3.5) is very short.\ Hey guys, if I buy an extension for the 3.5mm, will it affect sound quality in any way? |

QUOTE(LightningFist @ Apr 29 2012, 08:14 PM) I haven't tried it on games. Try it on game and movie then share the experience kay? Does it surround or it's just clear? Well, 2nd hand Stick that being offered to me is can be consider new because the user just open the box, test few song and keep it back inside the box. I guess he have speaker which is better than that. If I have just extra $$$, definitely will grab from him for mini home theater system. The bass is very good and the sound is clear. If it works for music it should work for games. At least that's the case for any speakers I've ever used. I know games sound different to music, which are different to films, but I'm not too picky. So, now I want another set for home. But I don't think I can pay RM900, and I wouldn't get an RM600 second hand one. A new one is always better. Anyone can recommend some powerful speakers which are decently priced (nothing over RM500-600)? Looking for PC audio for music, tv and films, you know what I mean. Externally powered of course. Not too weak like JBL creatures. I mean those things may look nice too but at their price (not exactly sure but I'm guessing RM400+, possible RM500+) they aren't powerful enough. BTW, another set for your home? Try Edifier or Logitech. But I prefer Edifier. C3 maybe? Or Logitech 5:1 within RM 600? |

Guys, my Sensonic F7 have problem with the volume control. I need to press the volume knob while adjusting volume. At first I thought it was my right speaker are the problem because the sound like my satellite already tear or damage and less sound compare to the left one. Luckily, when I'm intend to turn up the volume, the sound suddenly become balance like usual and when I play with the volume knob, it's confirmed that the volume control is the culprit? Any idea? This is my first speaker and I really love it. It's clear and surround sound though the bass are not that doom2... Hehe...

QUOTE(power911 @ May 3 2012, 12:35 PM) I have no trust on sensonic products but... Why no trust in Sensonic? Lauya huh? judging by how you say the volume knob dying... it is probably because your volume knob gets dirty. I'd usually open them up to reach the volume pot and put some rubbing alcohol inside the pot to dissolve any impurities. while the alcohol is still inside, I mess around the pot by turning it vigorously, hoping that it'll sweep away the dust and dirt. some people uses WD-40 because it has solvents inside but I do not really trust WD-40 as it might corrode things. I only use WD-40 as my last resort good luck trying to pry open your sensonic speaker. perhaps all it need is just unscrewing the front panel |

Have the budget? Corsair SP 2500. Balance in everything, except huge sub-woofer size. But I love the big size.

My friend that bought Sonic Gay always said that they regret to buy that speaker. Most of them, influenced by promoter. Hehe... And whenever I enter a pc shop, I will look for Edifier. But the sad part, They have Edifier rack, but it's all Eacan and Sonic Gear boom box on the rack.

Ya... Eacan look kinda cheaper than Sonic Gear. The material are kinda fragile and for Divoom, it's more to boom2 but not doom2... It's loud, but no quality to my ears. But I can't say that what I mention is totally right, it's just my thoughts.

I know this thread is not Corsair SP 2500 owner club, but I just want to share my experience with this speaker. SUPERB for it's price. Strong bass, clear sound, and shake my living room when connected to tv during action or war movie from Astro or DVD. For music, I can feel the bass punch my chest. In case other are looking for a speaker with RM 700 price, grab this monster... And try nego with Cyntrix, sure good price. The con, wired remote control. Wish can DIY wireless remote speaker.
