based on what i read, people who upgraded from Z680 to Z5500 are pretty happy but they did not receive better sound quality, some even prefer Z680 than Z5500 in terms of sound.

also i don;t think putting 10" sub to small room is going to give you good result. you can check out the new Z906 from logitech.

need recommendation for 5.1
my budget is below rm700.
read some reviews for edifier s5.1m , edifier DA5000pro and Edifier R501 MK2. caught my eyes these speakers.
mainly for music and movies.
no need bass too strong. prefer more for clarity.

ok thanks!!

If you are considering the Bose, do check out the Sound Stick III by Harman Kardon. Similar performance in a stunning design with a very competitive price drool.gif

Will need recommendations for 2.1 speakers around RM500.
Usually would listen to Piano , Kpop , games , drama , movies.
And do we put the sub woofer on the table ? Cause my old subwoofer is on the table next to the monitor.

Hmm but i prefer if the volume button is not on the speaker ; a remote would be nice because sometimes hands are dirty and ....errm , oily.. I can also fit the subwoofer at the bottom right of my legs , below the table.

I read bout this "Edifier S330D and use the digital coaxial input. " Is the Digital coaxial input important ? will i have to buy it separately ?

Wanan ask , which cable should i get ? there's this RMA to RMA , and stuffs like that ; so which am i supposed to get ? I'm using the onboard sound card on my motherboard ; plus where am I supposed to plug ? every motherboard have the audioports for digital coaxial input right ?

when you get the S330D you'll be able to get an RCA to mini jack which you can plug it to your pc
I think you might get either a coaxial or an optical cable along with your purchase, not sure.

normally you'll just plug it in the ordinary green jack via RCA to mini jack
but if your soundcard provides optical output you can try it to see which one sounded better to your ears

note: not all motherboard soundcard have digital output. example, my previous desktop PC

RCA to minijack ( minijack plugged to the motherboard ) ?
RCA to minijack is not coaxial ?

what type of cable is coaxial or an optical cable ? I went into the garage sales , there's so many types...i really need some good recommendations on which to get because I'm totally confused with these things...

How do i know if my motherboard (MSI MSI 870-G45 ) soundcard have digital output ? If my motherboard doesn't have then I'll just have to get the RCA to minijack ?

Hey guys. I'm looking into getting a set of 5.1 surround speakers for my living room. The built in speakers in my toshiba tv is really killing my movies. Even my 10 year old dell speakers are better. I'm not so sure bout the budget. What's good and reasonable? I'd like something that is good enough for the general population and not something very expensive for enthusiasts.

Coaxial Cable (it could be any RCA cable whatsoever)

Optical Cable

I'm guessing if you're gonna buy that Edifier S330D it's gonna be having the RCA to mini jack included along.

ignore digital since you don't have digital output. it's not like the digital connection is gonna improve much. yawn.gif

Added on May 2, 2011, 4:24 pmoh one more note... the Edifier S330D is gonna have a user manual along.
that should help you wink.gif
