Sorry not answering your questions but asking a question rather.

Why would you need a media player, wouldn't your samsung KU6000 able to play the file directly ? The media player is supposed to deliver higher quality play back than the media player on the TV ?

in my experience, audio capability of TV's are usually lacking.

i do not know yr TV but i will not be surprised if it cannot do ddtruehd direct from player like many other TV's.

if the video has other tracks, and that is common, q10pro will auto select and pass thru the one that the TV can do.

e.g. some videos come with multiple audio tracks, truehd7.1, dtshdma 7.1, dd5.1, dts5.1 - the player will select highest one that the tv can deliver.

if the video has only ddtruehd and tv can't handle, u get no audio.

you just have to get another video with lower or multi audio tracks.

if u have q10pro connected to to an AVR that can handle ddtruehd/dtshdma, the AVR will deliver ddtruehd or u can switch to dtshdma.
whether video or audio, we must accept the TV makers do what they do best - picture quality.

they do not invest too much into ability to playback complex files, complex audio - becos that's not their main biz.

i would say yes.

there are many types of rips.

that one u hv is a "lean" one, does not contain the core dd or ac3 5.1, so u get no audio.

there are files labeled ddtruehd7.1 files but hv core ac3 5.1 which yr tv will be able to handle.

best to check the file data description before u get them.

similarly, many dtshdma7.1 tracks hv dts5.1 inside too.

there are dtsx files that provide both dtshdma and dts too.

q10pro can take SATA HDD up to 8TB.

but if >3TB, u need a certain initialization procedure.

u can ask nicety to help u on this.

i assume u pause it by pressing OK on the remote.
that shouldn't be, if u had set box audio to AUTO.

try setting it to LPCM and RAW instead of auto and see how.

another thing is to try it on another TV, see if there is a diff.

I tried to simulate yr problem just now, connect q10pro to tv direct.
Tried many videos.... dts, dd, dtshdma.
DDtruehd cant do, no audio.
No buzz thingy when paused.
Audio setting is auto.

U should try more dts videos.
Possible that one was a unique or problematic rip.
But if all dts have that, i will suspect it is yr tv.
See if there are certain tv audio settings u can play with.

Switched on and off 3 times, no problem.

Did u pair them according to instruction manual?

And... maybe battery weak, need a full charge?

u can try it on another device, e.g. yr tv or another box, see if the same happens.

one small thing... everytime u switch on the device, the cursor is not seen.

u need to press a button on f10, e.g. "back" to activate it.

contact seller and ask what may be wrong.

One way to find out... Clean-flash latest firmware. retest the remote.

Afaik, himedia boxes all dun hv sleep function.

Boot up time is like 20-25 secs.

i can think of 2 things u may wanna check on this DTS buzz noise problem which shouldn't happen.

.. yr tv audio settings, toggle surround on-off and see if any diff.

.. if u have hyppbox or some other device(s) connect to TV, disconnect them and see if any diff.

red light = off, reboot <25secs.

if only Q10pro connected to TV, and nothing else, can't find another culprit!
i am curious why yr tv gets that "dts buzz" as i assume it has to be a new TV, 4k.

i have used 3 himedia models on 3 diff TV's, hdmi direct to TV, never had that.

soundbar... i hv never used any...

what u can do is when updating to next firmware (current 2.0.4), do a full one using restore button method, not using the system upgrade app.

that way, u will be sure to remove any unwanted stuff in there now.

yes, that can pop up after pressing certain buttons by accident.

i have seen it but very rarely - i just power down and up again to get rid of it.

if never updated, it will be orig UI, maybe can't do ddtrueHD, google-youtube probably stopped working, outdated subtitles reader.

that much i remember after 3 or 4 updates for similar model.

the main functions should still be fine.
was consolidating my collection... tested all kinds of files, old and new.

even my 4 yr old q5ii can play videos with ddtruehd or dtshdma - with an AVR.
