OTA comes much later after the official one is released.
Need not wait if it is already available elsewhere, tested OK.

if considering between q5pro and q10pro, basically 2 things matter (or not):

.. q10pro has an internal HDD slot for SATA drive up to 8TB.
.. q10 pro has 16gb storage; q5pro 8gb storage is fine for most purposes but not so good for big torrent based apps.

I see. Pretty sure you and nicety will be among the first to test new FW thumbsup.gif

If I'm gonna use for streaming I just need to get the Q5 Pro eh? Cuz 8GB is big enough for the apps I think. And also Q5 Pro got SD slot for me to add some more space right?
*
Streaming is okay, and you can always connect an external drive to the Q5Pro.

I aim for clean setup, hence opted for the Q10Pro.

Anyway you have NFS and SAMBA option too, which I haven't use yet.

The strange thing is, i cannot start my receiver unless i start my q10 pro. If i unplugged my q10 hdmi cable from the receiver, the problem is gone.
anyone else face the same issue and how to resolve ;
*
I think this is something to do with the CEC.
Based on what I read elsewhere, Q10pro isn't CEC friendly. It will kill CEC link between devices.

yes, i hv that too.

typically, that happens with 60fps, not 30fps.

and i find same with my 4k tv youtube direct!

maybe speed/stability isuse.

will test further when i go 100mbps - very soon.
*
I see. Maybe its the speed. Speed test on my Q10pro isn't as fast on my other device.
I will try connecting it via LAN, once I can find my LAN cable biggrin.gif

ya, go ethernet.

just got 100mbps today.

that speed, 4k hdr 60fps youtube works fine with q10pro.

stats for nerds shows these videos demand 40mbps or higher all the way for zero frame drop.

50mbps can do but not so smooth as we already know.
*
Yup, now I can play 4K 30fps biggrin.gif

i just tested my improved network on q10pro...

.. 100mbps
.. 5ghz wifi
.. 50 ft

can stream from pc to q10pro-avr-tv via samba (media center, LAN) smoothly.

even a 90gb 2.5hr 4k ddtruehd BDMV.

and with full BD menu! rclxms.gif
couldn't do that with 50mbps and/or 2.4ghz.
*
Nice!
Too bad my router doesn't support 5GHz wifi, haha.
BTW, for 2.0.6, do we still need to install the patch to make samba faster? Or was this for other stuff?

*
I'm interested in Quasar. Wanna know if you use VPN to stay "invisible"?

For now and until Malaysian ISPs start issuing cease and desist letters for ehem p2p connections, there's really no need for a VPN connection.

Yup, never heard of such cases yet. biggrin.gif
