Thank you bro for the explaination. Now i know with different kind of setup, we can get different result. Btw, my new HDMI Arch cable just arrived and yet it still does not work when connecting from Soundbar to TV via HDMI ARC connection. Tired of figuring how to make things work,  I guess I will just use Optical cable as this is the workable solution available right now. I am not sure what is wrong with the setup . Already check with both TV manual and Soundbar manual on how to connect each device. Sigh, now I feels that the RM50 spent on that the new cable is such a waste.

Yes. I just cancel netflix an hour ago. Because i was told by my friend can after confirm only knew that he actually not so familiar with SD, HD, 4k. To him is acceptable PQ for netflix android box. As for youtube, not sure my eyes or what but build in TV one seem PQ better as compare to 2 version of youtube at my tvbox. Dont know what the both different just the layout as compare to TV is different too.

Just sharing a test I have been doing since early May. I stopped using the screen EXIT button, used remote HOME button to exit KODI. A month is quite a long time and any resulting error should show up by now.

On cold Q5 Pro startup, sometimes (about 1 in 20), it hangs there and I have to press the power button to restart. This has happened before when I was using the screen EXIT button. Frequency about the same. So don't think this problem is a result of me using the HOME button to exit Kodi.

When I returned to Kodi after using the HOME button, it brought me back to the page where I left Kodi. So HOME is more like a pause function than a true exit.

Before May when I used QUICKCLEAN, I usually cleaned about 200-400 MB of memory. On using the HOME button to exit Kodi, seeing 400-700 MB a few times on using QUICKCLEAN. Think this is due to uncleared memory on using HOME button to exit Kodi.

As long as the memory usage is not too high in playing my Q5 Pro, then using HOME to exit Kodi (temporary or permanent) is AOK.

On 8 GB vs 16 GB, I used to think with 16 G,B one will have 16-8 = 8 GB more for me. Not really.

I changed from Himedia H8 2+16GB to Q5 Pro 2+8GB, initially worried that the 8 GB would cause me problems with the limited free memory for a smooth Kodi operation. I went ahead with the Q5 Pro change. Surprise, surprise later when I got Q5 Pro running with more or less the same Kodi + apps setup as when I was using H8.

In both H8 and Q5 Pro, I have about 1-1.5GB free memory. Why?

Learnt later from a guru that it is not 100% dependent on the 8 or 16 GB, it depends on how they configured the memory. So looks to me that in Q5 Pro, their memory configuration is better! Ha.

MKV movie files with size 5-7GB. So far i only got 1 player and it does play well with my PC. Just when i copy files to Himedia HDD which i addon, sometime it play half way and pop back to file choosing screen. I using the default media center player.

I also test play x265 format or BDMV files which so far so good dont have such issue. Only MKV files size 5-8GB one.

OK, i hv seen this with older boxes but not with Q10pro.

i have junked all small files <10gb, keep only big ones.
a possible explanation i can think of is the ripping of the file is not very good, player reject.

and yes, pc can play some of these slightly faulty rips but will also not play if the rip is too bad - sure u hv encountered them.

my suggestion is u get from trusted sources and go for bigger files - they are usually better rips.

to that, 2 things i will say... 

1. all 5 human senses - sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch - do not attempt the next better level unless u r ready.
once u see or hear something better, it is very hard to go back!

2. with all the heat, the really good stuff will become harder to get, more so over time for the older titles.

just like i hv junked hundreds of old dvd's (never going to watch them again), i have traded a lot of 720/1080 dd/dts for for bdmv/4k/hd audio.
takes a lot of bytes, these biggies...

Not the first time, but i just encountered it again.

A new 16gb file i put on a rather old hdd showed problems... video jerks, stops, return to beginning. Tried 3 times, same.

Tested same file on another hdd, no problem.

Copied the "good" file onto "bad" hdd but in diff folder.

It played fine this time.

Removed "bad" file.

All is good now, but it may happen again if to a new file is copied on same bad hdd sector.

I am now sure the old hdd has a bad corrupted sector, probably due to age, wear n tear.

Seen this before in another hdd which eventually kaput.
In yr case, copying file in bad sector to another place may not work as it is already corrupted.

Will need a duplicate or fresh copy.
