there is no simcard for yes mobile. u need to carry additional device called huddle (needs charging too). no point getting the ipad 4G, just wifi version will do.

best choice also u mobile. free microSIM some more.

but i'm still figuring out how to reload the prepaid without taking out the simcard.

hmm i am still thinking which to sign up for my new ipad.
I used wifi most of the time...but sometimes I would like to use it when I am not around those area with supported free wifi. Example if you are on vacation.

I saw one of the post stated no coverage at cameron highland using u mobile.

Which do you think is best recommended good coverage and within budget?

I don't think celcom is good as I have tried their broadband n i couldn't get any signal at all at home at saujana....

please kindly advice~~ thanks~~!!

was thinking of activating for my iphone then tether but that would use both idevice battery..so its a waste...i won't want to end up no batt on phone n cant make calls..hahahha...

u r a fool if u think every where got coverage. and u r taking an example of cameron highlands which i presume u don't always go there.

more established telcos like celcom and maxis have wider coverage but it is more expensive.
and bcos of that, it may be hard to get usable speeds when using either one of them bcos the network is congested with many users.

digi is practically useless as their offerings are just slightly cheaper but their network coverage is low and speed is slow.

yes4g, very high speed and very expensive. coverage is limited to major towns and along the highway.

thats why, KuLi chose umobile. it is far from perfect, and its a compromise of what we have right now.

yeap as you have mentioned not all has everywhere coverage...that is why I am seeking for opinions

Please do not call me a fool. If I think everywhere got coverage then I will not even bother seeking opinions and just sign up any telcos as "I think everywhere got coverage"

More establish telcos like celcom can't even have coverage in saujana subang?????

N probably you want to understand my post, I am seeking opinions for I want to use it when I am on vacation when I am out of town.

anyway thanks for your reply.

seems like this forum always got member calling others fool and feel like there are such a trouble asking silly questions. If that is so then this forum is not useful at all for newbies...

yes, like prepaid, buy celcom or maxis top up, then reload, then at computer setting inside do something to deduct that rm25, then start using for a month, about that vpn thing, i not sure how to add also, need either maybank2u or paypal
*
I checked already. I think that one is the so called MxxxLxxxx VPN which they somehow can bypass Celcom/Maxis quota counter,
through the prepaid broadband by maxis/celcom (RM25/month 700MB quota), then you connect through VPN,
somehow it bypass it and make the prepaid broadband uncapped quota.
Speed also flying light speed but I think this is illegal one.

If everyone doing this, maxis/celcom soon will be bankcrupt.
Now the problem is how soon the maxis/celcom notice this problem and how fast they can patch the hole.

Btw, the MxxxLxxxx VPN bypass prepaid broadband thing is just pop up suddenly like 2 weeks ago.

I second you KuLi. I also use Umobile because my area in Puchong dont have signal for Maxis & Celcom (Edge only).

So far I took it around Klang Valley and got decent connections everywhere.

Yes got microsim. but then again let me check. Cant remember and have not remove it from the stick yet to test on my iPad. Been using it for laptop and works fine.

EDIT : just checked. Unfortunately the u mobile broadband sim card I have is not microsim. My bad.

Maybe its a blind spot. There a few pocket blind spots (like a long the road to subang airport just near the petrol station - no line at all for Maxis. In fact I switched from Maxis to Celcom because I found Maxis got so many blind spots. Celcom at least got line & Edge coverage if not 3G.

the trouble with most newbies is that they seldom take the time to read the threads properly.
so much can be learnt and all of us can be spared of repeated questions.

if u experienced blindspot, pls write to them and the problem can be rectified.

Yeah but it's the closest thing to SMS sending on the iPad. Teaching ppl to jailbreak is quite irresponsible. It may cause the warranty to void!

I have no idea. But I think it's around 1Mbps?

Since Maxis is NOT CHARGING any additional charges after exceeded quota, I think 1Mbps is about right smile.gif
