not cure... =.="

the logic of drinking 100plus is to replace the salt loss from body after sweating alot during fever....normally ppl open the 100plus and leave it so that all gas go away then only drink it

Drinking 100plus during dengue fever doesn't boost ur immunity.
It's just for fluid n salt replacement

I never tried 100 plus before for fever but doctor did advice me to gulp loads of 100 plus when I am sick.

Panadol doesn't work for me at all.

It's not a cure. 100 Plus is an isotonic drink. When U're having or about to have a fever, that shows that Ur body is dehydrated.. so the fastest way to get some minerals & fluid in Ur system is by drinking an isotonic drink. Not just 100 Plus, ANY isotonic drink la.

If U're saying 100 Plus is a cure then U're wrong. It's just a way to reduce the chances of getting a fever. Drink water also can. But have to drink a lot la.

well i tried to take 100+ while im having fever....i burped alot... laugh.gif
But taking the ratio 1:1 with water, it actually helped. Well i think it just keeps u hydrated when ur sweating during with ur fever.

I also think that it gives the taste when drinking plain blunt water....and psychologically, you will think it will make u feel better.

i did try out the below to "cure" when i'm about to or having fever :

1. isotonic drinks (example: 7up revive)
2. beer

drink it after you wake up, it helps for me. no paracetamol(panadol) for me.

you guys go to school right? You are not uneducated people like the old folks who didn't go to school, right?

When people say something, use you brain to think. Use your knowledge you learn from school or books and other readings (you do read, right) to make an educated evaluation of what you are told.

When you are having fever, drink more water. Like what doctors will always say. 100+ is something that is better than water a bit as it rehydrate the body faster than water. But the gas and the added minerals in there are not so fantastic for the body. There are also sugar in there to provide some energy back to the body.

Most of the time fever are caused by virus. There are no medicine to cure virus infection. You will have to rely on your own body immune system to fight the infection. That is why you have to keep your body strong and rehydrated to fight.

And beer to "cure" fever? That's the most ridiculous excuse for drinking beer. Beer have alcohol which will hydrate the body even more.

That is also a reason why antibiotics are provided, sir. It boosts the white blood cell count to further fight against the virus infection. And you don't have to be blunt to the point asking if everyone went to school or not. It is a discussion. Although I do agree that beer to cure fever point is rather odd. dry.gif

you are not being logical either......

final verdict : when you have fever, you have to replace lost fluid and electrolyte by any means(1 of the method is isotonic drinks)....
fever is a sign of inflammation or infection.....curing that requires something more specific.

fever is a symptom of a pathology.....even if you eliminate the fever by antipyretics(panadol), the causative agent may still be there....

hence the phrase "cure fever" has no meaning at all.

Antibiotic won't cure any virus infectin.
Antibiotic is effective against bacteria, not viruses.

To fend off viruses is about your immune system only.
Most medicine provided for virus infection is to reduce the symptom, make you more relief, and feel better only, it doesn't attack the viruses, it is your body immune system taking care on it.

100+ = 100% MYTH

1. U need fluids during fever especially in dengue but preferably not too sweet as sweet drinks dehydrate ur cells via osmosis. Thus Mineral water, barley kosong or even coconut juice is much better

2. Yes u need more mineral especially when u consume alot of fluids or if u have diarrhoea, to replenish the mineral loss from increase urine excretion or diarrhoea but there are so many other better sources as mention above. Worse to worse get some oral rehydration salt from any pharmacy/clinic. No No to sweet drinks.

3. When we are not feeling well, most of us would have poor apetite as well as increase stress to our stomach which may lead to certain discomfort including nausea. When this occur i think carbonated drinks should be avoided to a further extend.

In summary, avoid to sweet of a drink and a definite no no to 'gassy' drinks. Pure fruit juices, barley kosong/kurang kurang manis or mineral water is good

This is a discussion....lashing out like this doesn't help. You should just stop after "you guys go to school right?"....

To some it may be a myth and to others it may work.

I agree with you here on this. To every action there is always an opposite reaction....
you drink too much of water, ppl tell you get water poisoning.
you take too much of panadol, they say ur body will adapt to it...

and the list goes on.....So the TS is asking will 100 plus cure fever, the answer is no.
but then it helps in the process of healing and recovering.
