QUOTE(fat cat @ Jun 11 2011, 01:08 PM) its damn weird, they says its sold out yet im able to order it: http://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/Bu...pdetail=P185322. but with no goodies From the current promotion, the only worth goodies is the MS Office & the extra 4Gb RAM (which I think is the reason why this unit being labeled SOLD OUT). The mouse and laptop bag is utterly sh*t especially the bag. Adding word: To those buying online, please save some money to get yourself a nice bag as the bag given can't fit the size of this laptop. Lol.. I don't think u'll gain much fps with that 2GB graphic and not sure if i7-2720QM in DV6 can support DDR3-1600 because there is not much info for that HM65 chipset. Sauce : How Much RAM Does Your Graphics Card Really Need?

QUOTE(fat cat @ Jun 11 2011, 01:56 PM) well, extra 1 gb for the gfx card, bigger hdd and faster processor. dunno might be just me.. The only that makes 6108TX stands out is the processor only which I'm sure can support the 1600MHz RAM. The only problem is that I have to get the Kingston PnP type since the BIOS is so basic, there is no adjustment option available. Now if only I can figure out how to open the back plate without breaking it..... Once the spec of the 6114TX were out stating that it came with a Blu-Ray Drive, I would think that this model are worth it unless you really want a higher processor. A bigger hard disk? Mine is a 3-platters Toshiba Hard disk, while some one mention that Samsung is coming out with a 2-platters 1 TB hard disk soon which should hold some advantage over the Toshiba.

my dv6 is back. saw the report.. they fixed my faulty speaker and updated the driver for me. so you guys should have an update I guess. weird thing is they say my power button is faulty as well but it was fine when I send it over.. They changed my whole keyboard layout for me as well... And their workmanship is quite poor. The keyboard wasn't fully click-ed in. The numpad area was jutting out. I had to click it in myself. But so far so good. Took 6 days for them to repair. Can say its pretty fast. Gonna test out the speakers.. and try not to blast them this time. heh

Wonder why HP didn't equip it with DDR3-1600 in the 1st place. The 2 platters 1TB Samsung is pretty expensive.. Btw, good luck with opening that backplate. For now DDR3-1600MHz is still consider a premium type of RAM, so it's not feasible for them to provide this but I believe sooner or later they will include this into their laptop range. Astria mention that the Samsung Hard disk will debut at USD 129.00 which is OK compare to the price quoted when other higher capacity hard disk make their debut. Any tips to share on how to "break" the virgin laptop's backplate?? Anyone?? This post has been edited by Efalex: Jun 11 2011, 03:37 PM
