50mm on cropped sensor is roughly the same as 85mm on FF, having said so, the MFD difference between these 2 lenses is pretty significant.

50mm f1.4 - 0.45 metre
85mm f1.4 - 0.85 metre

So it affects the DOF too. smile.gif

Added on April 25, 2011, 11:17 am

Refer to my post above. The MFD shorter MFD on 50mm f1.4 allows him to go closer smile.gif
*
But when obtaining similar field of view, 50mm on DX versus 85mm on FF.

Let's say 85mm stands 1 meter away from focus point, the 50mm would be roughly 1 meter away too right? The dof for 85m would be more shallow isn't it due to focal length.

Not necessary, for instance,

85mm f1.4 on full frame body and you are 1 metre away from the subject.
50mm f1.4 on cropped body and you are 1 metre away from the subject.

If you ignore the minor differences, you should be able to get the same field of view, but when both steps closer by half a metre

85mm f1.4 on full frame body and you are 0.5 metre away from the subject (you get OOF shot due to you went beyond the MFD)
50mm f1.4 on cropped body and you are 0.5 metre away from the subject. (you get a narrower DOF due to the nearer the subject's distance to you, the narrower the DOF except you go beyond the MFD)

smile.gif
*
Understood, but I was comparing when both lens are still within focus distance. If beyond MFD no point comparing since can't even get a lock on the focus already.

I know what is he referring to. D7000 can preview which AF point you used. So if you use center point, then you recompose to the side, the AF indicator still is the center point.

Sensor dust i think. I change two lens, the dust appear in same spot (position/coordinate).

Wide open nope. But shoot landscape sure can notice.

Just got my d7k a week then got dust.  laugh.gif
*
Tried blowing your sensor? You know the procedure right? Some of my friends very cute one, they use the mirror lock up mode (mUp) then start blowing laugh.gif

wta.. D7000 vs D300s which one is better? and the cheepo price for D7000 [body/kit] and D300s can found is?
*
I would go for the D7000. The sensor alone is why I would go for it, plus the body isn't too 'entry level' either with magnesium and weather sealing.

or need to send back to nikon?

Upload a photo and show where the dead pixels is, then I can advise you. Most of the time, you can just ignore it.

QUOTE(hihi @ Apr 26 2011, 10:45 AM)
Anybody know the back focus cause by lens or body itself? Because i'm using my friend body still have the same problem.
And if i sent to service center to calibrate? how much it will charge and how long will take? Time Square Service Center can do it rite?
Me and my fren using D90.
*
Can be lens or body or both. Your body working fine with other lens? If yes then it is the lens. If under warranty it is FOC.

This is mapped to 1:1 pixel right? I would say ignore it lol. Normal viewing size not so easy to spot that 1 pixel.

They just disable that pixel only so it won't have any bright color lo. Some cameras like Sony's alpha automatically remap every month if not mistaken.

*
Same goes to current rubber on body and also lens, all using double sided tape.
