Friend , a quick question here....

issit still worth to get D90 within this month ? is there any replacement for D90 within 2 or 3 month
*
A very quick answer as well. D7000 already considered as replacement for D90, therefore you will not see anything equivalent within a year frame. Izzit min lifespan for Nikon's DSLR is 2 years before being refreshed?

You just need to get your WB and exposure right for this. And I guess this is the 85G prime after all ;-) if the color reproduction isn't good, I wonder how will the older lens fare tongue.gif.
*
Care to share your guidance and secrets for proper exposure? nod.gif

Err, no way... but generally for portrait you can judge from how the skin appear. If sort of caota/bbq -> under.

@celciuz

Speaking of proper exposure vs improper exposure (BBQ skin etc.), how accurate would be your shot before and after touch-up? I do often find my shots exposed wrongly, especially in frames that are less light available.

What setting do we need to take care in composing the proper exposure beside ISO, SS and Aperture. Any tips on WB or you usually shot with Auto WB and edit them with LR?

I guess metering also play a major role lah smile.gif
Especially in Nikon I like its Spot metering because the metering is linked to all AF point unlike canon stick to center which is pretty useless doh.gif
Sometimes you deal with different lighting it does matter.
*
Anyone care to explain more about metering and spot metering etc.? I'm kinda getting lost with what I'm absorbing... sweat.gif

QUOTE(celciuz @ May 7 2011, 03:20 PM)
I shoot in M most of the time... and usually trial and error first few shots then after that its more or less about 1/3~2/3 stop away,

WB usually on auto, then tweak if needed during PP.
cool.gif
*
Would you share comparison of your shots before and after tweaked? smile.gif

I only see one good thing in the personal debate between aldosoesilo and Andy214, is that celciuz sharing his thoughts on skin tones after reading out biggrin.gif

Guys, izzit any Nikon site (be it US or EU or Asia etc.) can be used to download firmware upgrade for D7000 or should be Asia only since we're located in that category? unsure.gif

going to buy d7000 later. do you guys know where is cheapest store? how about Fotokem in sunway pyramid? thanksss  thumbup.gif
*
I remember someone mentioned that camera shops in Sunway Pyramid owned by the same company or group and not recommended to buy from them.

Anyway, since you're nearby there, you might want to try J-One at Amcorp Mall or head downtown for Foto Selangor at Pertama Complex. If you're at Foto Selangor, try bargain and usually you'll get further discount.

Maybe I'm not close with YL Camera, non-regular or not trying to bargain with them... I find their price slightly above average street price.

sb900 for 1.45k
age around 5month.. all acc still include..is it worth it?
*
I couldn't recall how much I asked for new unit from Foto Selangor last time, if I recall... it's not far beyond RM1.45K if it's not cheaper? You can always call-in and ask, but definitely you'll get better price if you walk-in smile.gif

FOTO selangor la bro..the one in pertama complex..since i need 60mm Micro and 24-70mm F2.8, didnt got the stock..need to order 1 week..the lady told us..but yet they give better deal rather than YL and other shops smile.gif
*
Actually I blind hit the shop. The day before I purchase my D7000, I googled and found a website listing camera shops in Selangor. I randomly pick names that I felt can get good price and start calling resulting Foto Selangor offer price was the lowest among all laugh.gif

Most of the samples were at f/3.2, and they didn't look impressive to me. Maybe due to the color perhaps.
*
Yeah, same goes with me. Will see other photos or perhaps more reviews to come. My budget at the moment only allow me to go for this lens sad.gif

Should or shouldn't I consider the Sigmalux? However, 35mm seems to be better option for an all-rounder prime lens.

This coming weekend I have a wedding to shoot and only equipped with D7000 kit set. Should I get the SB900 flashgun to cover the day up? I'm still wondering how would the flashgun enhance the photos as many said flashgun will do wonders.

If I'm opt to get the flashgun, any additional accessories I should consider? Beside this coming weekend, next month I will also have some wedding to shoot.

ohh ur in trouble tongue.gif
helps u get sharper shots if used correctly.
sb700 also is enough.
*
Yeah... kinda rush to get one at this time actually... sweat.gif

But I'm really curious how far it can bring my photos go with kit lens... of course my skills and techniques count too. I'm sure I'm not there yet sad.gif

QUOTE(four_add @ May 23 2011, 08:01 PM)
try prime 50mm 1.8/1.4 ?
it should be good for potrait and good for low light (indoors)
*
Yeah... but still I'll need to cover up wide angle too which is then flash sounds wiser since I have got kit lens.

Yes and no, there's no Official Photographer for the day.
