that lens is one of the fav lens for yaman  ibrahim and ted adnan how come u can say ugly?

Ever heard of one man's meat is another man's poison? The gear is his and this is based on his experience. Everyone has their own opinion, doesn't mean A and B said its their fav lens meaning it has to be good.

You're 0168257061 not yaman ibrahim and ted adnan leh laugh.gif

Different people got different taste of what is good and what is not good.

50mm f/1.8D I own this lens, wide open it is soft. Step down enough it is still acceptable.

QUOTE(Andy214 @ May 7 2011, 11:05 AM)
I believe nobody said the tammy cannot be used, but it has its weakness, every lens has. I don't mind admitting a weakness, rather than cheating myself. just like the 3tmm f1.8, it's not a super lens, it has few  weakness, but for its price, its good, just like the tammy.
Also, like the 50mm f/1.8, for the price? it's a great lens.

As for the photo, nobody is saying how bad you are for shooting under, firstly, my post was asking a Question:
is it under?
I wonder if you qualify a question as saying you did a mistale or you did wrong. and I think you're over sensitive and carried away. even if you shoot under, there's nothing wrong, why get over sensitive about it, the way I see it, it's actually good that many people shared their views and discussion, people are not critisizing you in negative way, they're showing good informationa and sharing, I think its more important to appreciate and learn from it, unless you already know this. If not, I think it's important not to let ego be in the way of you for learning. Most people are not willing to admit and learn, which is the first step and hardest step to take.

But as I said, if you already know about the under expose and skin tones, t please ignore my post, but iI still think those information shared by others especially CY is very helpful and useful to anyonthat didn't know. And isepunye also shared a very good exmaple how adjusting the exposure and touchup can make a big difference. Personally, I appreciate their post and sharing.

I agree with you. Slow focusing, hunting in lowlight are the weakness of the Tamron 17-50 VC. If it is so good, I don't think the Nikkor 17-55 would even get any sales lol.

IQ wise the Tamron is good for a sub 2k lens brand new, but it isn't perfect. Under 2k that is the only standard zoom range with fixed f/2.8. You got no other choice to be honest.

@celciuz

Speaking of proper exposure vs improper exposure (BBQ skin etc.), how accurate would be your shot before and after touch-up? I do often find my shots exposed wrongly, especially in frames that are less light available.

What setting do we need to take care in composing the proper exposure beside ISO, SS and Aperture. Any tips on WB or you usually shot with Auto WB and edit them with LR?
*
I shoot in M most of the time... and usually trial and error first few shots then after that its more or less about 1/3~2/3 stop away,

WB usually on auto, then tweak if needed during PP.

Would you share comparison of your shots before and after tweaked? smile.gif
I only see one good thing in the personal debate between aldosoesilo and Andy214, is that celciuz sharing his thoughts on skin tones after reading out biggrin.gif
*
Overall?

Actually WB and all you can tweak to what you want to show...Originals in spoiler (.NEF straight to JPEG using ViewNX). Hope it helps. Very leceh to find the originals and convert here and there ._. haha.

Bigger mirror smile.gif Not to mention different shutter type, if you did notice the D300 type the loudest among the crop sensors...

RAW? If RAW, LR won't be able to read what settings you used on your camera.

Nope, RAW is RAW. The JPEG will be med.

QUOTE(C_Sagi @ May 8 2011, 10:33 PM)
Yeah raw, so cant do anything beside letting it auto change the settings ?

Yeap. LR can't read the settings accurately. Another method, use CaptureNX convert to .tiff then edit on LR? LOL.
