r1 r2 maybe not so perfect la, but r3 is free of problem of previous version having.

they will go to your place an replace it instantly. that's what on-site warranty is for.

After 3 yrs complete cover warranty, you still  can extend the warranty to another 3 more yrs.++. Gold warranty.. etc..
For replacement, sometimes dell will request to email them the pic of the dmg part. Their onsite staff will come direct to your place to replace it.
Their onsite staff are well trained and equip with necessary parts n equipment to fix the hardware/parts problem.

heat would be the most enemy for battery, the longer time u open ur laptop, the hotter u alptop get, the faster ur battery spoil even thouhg is not charging

bios disable is disable charging.

if u wish to take out, do let me know, i can help u do it without any charges ^^

if u dont wan charge ur battery, just disable from the bios to stop charging(some how adptor will control itself if the battery if full, adaptor will stop charging as well ^^)

You need to do that regardless of which brand you choose. Its easy to find in Dell's website 

ps: You would want to burn your recovery discs as well..

Uninstalled everything as in EVERYTHING?  AlienFX you also uninstall? 
You should at least burn your recovery discs 1st.. perhaps you wanna Alienrespawn or something...

^ You could just turn off the lights and do all the necessary settings via AlienFX. Its one of the best programs ever to come with a laptop 

Well, if you don't register, you're the one taking the risk  Its just a few clicks away anyway...

There's an Intel Turbo Boost program for you to monitor the clock speeds.. but then its just a waste of resources that's why Dell decided to omit them from Alienware units...

Dont have to register online. All your details & warranty already updated by the dell sales person.
Unless u want to chg ur information eg. like address chg, etcs  u can go to dell website or call dell to update it for u.
