model kit = plastic model that you need to assemble yourself, can customize into what you want
action figure = completed figure from factory; no need assemble and paint.. some paintjob from factory are really bad but higher articulation than gunpla
i dont like the material use on figure also; too pvc-feel

gunpla is still playable, but not as much as action figures.. cannot afford having parts falling each and every time you wanna do complex poses.. like the ankle armor for the Strike.. or the arm GN vulcan/armor for the Exia.. or the hand armor for the Zeta Plus
