if i were u, if use the money to spend on quality, not quantity. just one good component set, one powerful 4ch amp, one single voice coil sub, kautim....

3k maybe can get la 4ch amp and component speakers for the front, maybe coaxials for the rear

this is alpine's cheapest amp, when new also around 800, so 400 is fair price, since u say its mint condition.
if u want to run a sub, find one that is single voice coil rated 100W rms.

crossover divided the signal into different frequency range. high range goes to tweters, midrange goes to midrange speakers, low range goes to subwoofer.
come in 2 versions, small one called passive crossover sits in between amp and speaker. larger one is electronic crossover, needs bit more wiring, able to adjust the frequency range & level, this one goes between head unit and amplifiers. nowadays got quite a few head units with electronic crossover built in already.

problem with myvi, if u want front 6.5 inch components, u have to buy the door adaptors, around 250.

since budget too low, suggest u get head unit, 4 inch coaxials for front dashboard, and 6.5 inch rear coaxials at rear door. no need amp yet.

in the mean time start saving up for a real system...

not much midbass

later u can add an active subwoofer (not real subwoofer) can fit under seat, no need to add amp, cost around 600-800, gives u midbass, not much sub bass

since budget is limited, keep the OEM HU la, just add a hi-lo convertor to connect to the amp.

get 4ch amp, front component speakers and one subwoofer. 2k can cover this including installation. save up to change HU for next budget..

component set = 2 units 6.5" midrange + 2 units tweeters + 2 units passive crossover

real subwoofer much better than the active sub. active sub at best gives midbass, not much sub bass

rear speakers maintain OEM and powered by head unit, not important. in fact most SQ systems do not even use any rear speakers.

if u have a 2ch amp, u can only power up your sub OR your components, not both

only if the box maker knows what he's doing...

buy high quality electronic crossover, not the cheap ones.

try new soundquest, they used to sell lot of pegasus, now not sure, theyve moved from klang to shah alam

u mean 4 way? 3 way front + sub rite? yes u probly need to add custom passive. 9887 u cannot play 4 way active. better off selling it, buy a good pure deck (someone selling clarion 9255 for 1k++) and a 4 way electronic crossover (someone selling KEF 4 way for 1k). or u can wait if someone sells their clarion HX-D2, got inbuilt 4 way xover, should be around 2k++ 2nd hand. one more choice is to wait for alpine PXA701 processor, 2nd hand around 2k

its up to u to customize the passive to make it sound as best as u can get

best 2din player will cost u about 5k, how?

if u have 2k only and want to buy 2din player, can get sony, panasonic, pioneer or kenwood.

if u want everything all in total 2k, u end up with cheap china stuff...

iphone capable players i think start from 600 plus, can get alpine CD101

try to look for boston accoustics, starting price around 550 i think

to play 3 way, after u add the 4 inch speaker, u need to replace your passive crossover from 2 way to 3 way. probly need to add an amp too, coz your player not powerful enuff to run all 3 speakers.
