go to shops with high reputation, they still sell good quality products and are not primarily after making money only, they have to protect their name as well. besides, their years of experience can advise u easily on the sound u want to achieve on a limited budget, plus they have other well off customers who trade in their old stuff for new ones.

1500, buy cd player and 6.5inch front component speakers (comes with tweeter). iswara door can be modified to take 6.5inch speaker, forget the 4inch spkr. later save up for amp and sub, for 2nd round of upgrade.

if your amplifier don't have build-in 'gain', 'freq/treble-bass' or volume control, at least put a passive crossover
add an electronic crossover if possible, easier 2 set...

all amps come with gain, in fact that is the volume control, similar lah

the frequency adjust is usually hi pass or lo pass filters, which is similar to electronic xovers. passive xovers will come with your component speakers.

treble/bass usually on cap ayam amps only. not so cap ayam withh have some sort of bass boost. good amps will not have any of these, as it is used with separate EQ or Xover, either standalone or inbuilt in HU or processors.

depends which car la, some are 8 inch some 10 inch, but mostly all shallow or flat subs to save space. sometimes 6x9 also they call sub hehe...

i dont trust any certification, all marketing only. if u go and check out home theatre systems, to get thx certified how much u think the system will cost?

same goes for mark levinson systems in lexus, if only they know how much a mark levinson home audio system will cost....so u know the one in the car is nothing like the real thing.

bro need a lil advised.iam planning to upgrade my vios HU.i dun have any brand in particular.at least new HU come up with;
touchscreen, dvd, usb and GPS is a must (as i'm frequently travel to singapore)

need advised on good HU,budget is around 2K.HU unit only.

BTW at the same time could u advised good speaker to pair with that HU?
*
2k hu with dvd player touchscreena nd gps can only get china made no brand one, check out the other threads theres one about it.

if u want branded, only got kenwood and alpine, will cost u around 5-6k. beter buy garmin for 900 and spend 1.1k on a medium range head unit.

as for speakers, what is your budget?

alrite guys

this is my current set up tell me its good or not?

Front Speakers - 2 Way Pioneer
Back Speakers - Stock Speaker (Saga Blm)
Sub - Helix 12'
Amp - 2 Channel Kennon 1000w (Sub)
          4 Channel Lvaudio 1000w x4 ( Front & Back Speakers )
HeadUnit - Kenwood KDC-MP543U (USB+AUX+MP3+WMA)
Preamp - Kennon

i need someone to tell me what do i have change to make my sound better

anyway there is another problem i find that always i can hear the frequence from the speaker when the vol is set to 0 there is always a buzzing type of sound from the speaker from the front and the another problem is when ever i press my horn the sound interfiere with my speakers which i mean when i press the horn i can hear it through my speakers?...does anybody knows about this problem?
*
a bit of advise to all forummers...come in and ask us about your system BEFORE purchasing it....

if i were you id stay away from this kennon and lvaudio cap ayam stuff. take the 2 amps and pre amp out, just buy a decent brand 4ch amp. run your front and sub from it. rear speakers can run directly from HU. theres a high chance your noise issues are from the pre amp, or the amp, or their wiring, especially grounding.

keep your system simple. use back the hu and sub. buy one good 4ch amp and one good component set. but with your limited budget u should try and see whats available in the 2nd hand market also.

titann16
if u say the sound is from the new amp, then its probly the grounding of the amp is not good, thats what causing the noise.

analogy for sub bass if using 6x9, active sub or real sub

6x9 - like drinking beer with one teaspoon at a time

active sub - like drinking beer with a straw

real sub - like drinking beer properly from the glass

any recommendation for a 4ch amp ?? budget Rm700... eyeing Pioneer GM-6400F...
and i need to buy cables for it right ??! i know nothing about cables... can anyone help ??! hehe..
*
mango u will need:
rca cable (signal cable from HU to amp)
power cable (for power from battery to amp, and grounding from amp to chassis)
speaker cable (from amp to speakers)

id recommend a 4ch amp with the sub, if u want sq then youd get rid of the 6x9. u can use the fader to reduce the sub sound.

ooo...
rca cables got difference in terms of quality ?? in fact all other cables do effect sound quality ??
*
yes but only rca and speaker wire, thats why they go into the thousands of dollars, for high end they use home stereo cables, those can get into 5 digits already...

so depends on your budget lah, how much u can spend...for budget systems should be around rm300 for non cap ayam cables....

if its at KF then dont worry about the price, u are paying for 1st class installation and a lot of experience, to make sure everything goes ok and u can come back for free troubleshooting and a bit of touch up tuning from Mr Liew
