QUOTE(kykm1307 @ Oct 23 2023, 04:20 AM) To the best of my understanding, there isn't a credit card that offers zero fees on foreign transactions. They always find a way to charge some type of fee, be it a conversion fee, network fee, admin fee, oversea transaction fee, or other "creative names". The only card currently offering a true zero fee is SCB JumpStart, but it's a debit card. This post has been edited by Steve78: Oct 23 2023, 07:13 PM |

QUOTE(cenkudu @ Oct 30 2023, 08:32 PM) I just tried for few transactions in Denmark. I compare here with Visa exchange transfer and Xe.Com on same date. Later I will report a direct comparison with Wise card. For the sake of comparison, I share the exchange rate offering by MasterCard, which is the final rate of the SCB JumpStart.418 DKK = RM 284.48, 1MYR = 1.469; xe.com 1MYR= 1.465 and visa 1MYR= 1.470 So far I think the rate is reasonable. Will update further CODE DKK 1 = MYR 0.6801 MYR 1 = DKK 1.4703 DKK 418 = MYR 284.29 cenkudu liked this post

QUOTE(gilabola @ Dec 25 2023, 12:34 PM) Since SCB Jumpstart's rate is the exact same as Mastercard's, Bank Rakyat would only be equivalent if their rates match too. However, Jumpstart still stands out with its 5% online cashback feature. |

RHB MCA occasionally outperforms SCB Jumpstart. As for the recent weekends, RHB's rates have been better, due by the MYR strengthening against the USD since the November and the fact that Mastercard freezes the exchange rate from Friday for the entire weekend. So we end up with the less favorable Friday rate, even when the MYR fares better over the weekend. This post has been edited by Steve78: Jan 1 2024, 07:19 PM Ramjade liked this post

QUOTE(Mr Gray @ Jan 14 2024, 09:15 AM) Cash withdrawal in THB If you take out the THB from the RHB MCA, aren't you still required to pay THB 220 as well?SCB Jumpstart THB20,000= MYR2696.58 (inclusive of THB 220 ATM charge) RHB MCA THB20,000= MYR2694.00 (inclusive of MYR12 ATM charge) Date of both transactions= 14 Jan 2024 (Sunday) Time: 9AM MYT RHB slightly more competitive than SCB by RM2.58, or 0.1%. MYR to THB conversion in RHB app is done at the same time, before cash withdrawal As Thai ATMs charge withdrawal fee, RHB outperforms SCB. But if you're using the card at an ATM in other countries with no fee, eg Singapore, SCB could possibly beat RHB in cash withdrawal. |

I tried out the GXBank Mastercard and found that it indeed has no fees, same to the SCB JumpStart. Both offer the Mastercard rate without any fees, making them equal.
The RHB MCA's exchange rate closely aligns with the Mastercard rate, though slight variations may occur due to currency fluctuations. Considering the cashback benefits, I'd prefer using either SCB JumpStart or GXBank for payments. |

Please be aware that the forex rate offered by Amex is the worst compared to all other card networks.

If you check out the replies here, you'll see that SCB JumpStart and RHB MCA have the best forex rates going, and now GXBank has just stepped up to offer rates as good as SCB JumpStart's.
These three currently offer the most competitive forex rates in the market. |

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Mar 14 2024, 08:27 PM) gxbank better as got 1% cashback. dont forget u get 3% pa - daily bank in for saving money inside The SCB JumpStart offers a 5% cashback on online purchases.SC jumpstart - no 3% pa interest. very low interest if put money inside QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Mar 15 2024, 12:12 AM) still a long way. enjoy while still got time. The 0% foreign exchange fee with SCB JumpStart isn't a promotion campaign, it's a built-in account benefit that's been reliably good for a few years, though it could change.SC Jumpstart tnc also going to change on sept. Now SC Privileges had a bad interest tnc till Jan 2025. so i wont surprise they did the same for jumpstart This post has been edited by Steve78: Mar 15 2024, 04:09 AM |

Wise does charge fees, as explicitly mentioned on their website, and Wise's exchange rate is typically higher than that of Mastercard.gxbank - got interest 3% on saving ACC jumpstart - got 5% cashback on online retail. QUOTE(lowyat101 @ May 6 2024, 05:15 PM) I see, meaning that TnG visa is also 0% on forex now? so both TnG visa and gxbank will have the same rate? QUOTE(datolee32 @ May 6 2024, 08:52 PM) The early reports shared in this post reveal that TnG's rates were more expensive than Visa's.Anyway, since Visa has higher rates than Mastercard, so it's best to use Mastercard for foreign transactions. elon_musk and apowerfulskill liked this post

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 5 2024, 08:19 PM) Updating the forex info for CIMB TWE based on new information received - This could be due to the time zone difference between the settlement and your transaction.240129 JPY 1.23% 240415 USD 0.93% 240407 KRW 0% One member mentioned several post back that the bank fee rate was 0.93% and this confirms that data. What's interesting here is that it appears that depending on what's the forex, different bank fee will be applied. The forex rate is set on the day the transaction is settled and posted to your account, which can take one to three days after you make the payment. |

QUOTE(ericlaiys @ Dec 20 2024, 02:56 PM) well...rate change every 1 sec on mastercard/visa. impossible u do 2 transaction on same time. exchange rate cannot argue with bank or change the rate No, Mastercard and Visa do not update their foreign exchange rates every second, they update their exchange rates once per day. |
