you guys know that this is the different team from GTA4 and RDR right?
Team Bondi is relatively new and have people from The Getaway http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_Bondi from the previews i get the feeling the game will be more about investigating crimes than shooting dudes in the face. if you want more over-the-top action i think have to wait for Saints Row 3 (according to the developer SR3 is more about punching dudes in the crotch, for every melee/range weapon they have different crotch punching animation - taken from GameInformer) and oya in case you didn't know Activision cancelled True Crime Hong Kong. |

Game looks really cool, think Rockstar won't put their name on it if it doesn't fit with their style. From the action/shooting sequences it looks like RDR. What I like is how the facial expressions are spot-on like the actual actors. Ground breaking stuff. In the game you need to deduce if the suspect is lying or not based on facial expression.

Some lucky ppl already got their hands on the game cause they pre-order early.
Didn't want to pre-order games anymore but in the end cannot resist as didn't want to miss out on the specials. Should be released tomorrow or Friday. Reviews look solid. Can't wait. |

Fantastic game but the cases feel too short. Most of them can be solved in <30 minutes

Seems like Rockstar learned so much after Red Dead Redemption and GTA.
The game's fast travel and conversation are much shorter. Hope you can skip some of the conversation when you're retrying to get all the questions right. So far it's a triple A product alright. |

Rockstar social club is as fantastic as ever. It tells you what questions you got wrong and how many pieces of evidence you're missing.
It's a pretty good feature for all the achievement whores out there. Also don't forget that syncing to RSC gets you a free outfit. |

Give credit to Team Bondi...the australian developer of this game....they do most of the hardwork...

I heard rumors on the official Xbox forums that the game has caused overheating issues. A quick Google search reveals both the Xbox 360 and PS3 having this issue. Hmm. I hope they resolve this issue real soon.
What about fellow gamers already have this game? Has this issue occurred? And usualy what do you do when your console freezes? Just turn it off? Just wondering if there's any other way. Yeap indeed I think this is by far the most movie interacting game I've ever seen. Real actors, very realistic facial expression. |

Just a reminder to fellow gamers who have played the game, please use "spoilers" if you are posting anything revealing so as not to spoil it for those who havent played.
No freezing or overheating for me. Installed the game on hardisk, not sure if it has any bearing. Yes, the outfit comes into play after you've moved up to plain clothes police officer. Some outfits give you better gun handling and resistance, some just look spiffy and have no "special effects". About 17% progress after 3.5 hours of core gameplay and all side missions (hidden cars, street crimes, etc.). However, some issues I've noticed thus far: (1) serious framerate tearing issues (not sure if that's technically correct term) at the start of the game (2) in some parts of the game, as you finish questioning witnesses, the background music comes on and overrides the witness' dialogue/speech. so only her mouth moves but cannot hear what she said. (3) when driving, you can press X to get your partner to guide you to your destination. however, sometimes pressing X to get guidance disrupts the dialogue between u and your partner during pre-scripted conversation (i.e. it ruins the story telling). All in all, it's a good game although somewhat linear thus far. |

It froze once on me, in the bank vault for a street crime. No idea why as there was no lagging or issues beforehand. Was only playing for about 20 minutes. So far have been playing few hours has not happened again. Installing to HDD would definitely be better and will do that once I can tear myself away from the game!
Used this guide to get all landmarks http://www.gamesradar.com/f/la-noire-film-...517205858594034 but have yet to get the 50 film reels This morning had tons of fun getting the 40 cars achievement. Just have to get in a new car for it to trigger. It's now a habit to look at every car that passes by or in parking lots. It's difficult as all these old style cars look similar. There is another achievement for all 90+ cars in the city and that one will be a beast. The story is quite linear but the complicatedness of the interrogation will help with replayability. The game reminds me of Mafia series, True Crime and an old PC cop game that was set in LA too (but can't remember name). The map system is a little iffy. I'm not sure why they didn't go with the marked line to destination like in previous GTA games. I know there's no GPS in those times but it's quite tough to navigate. The partner directions aren't much help and it's better to just drive in the general direction of the destination.About the interrogation, what piano music is correct/incorrect? From what I've noticed thus far, different areas in the map offer different type of cars. So I guess we won't be able to get all 95 cars until the rest of the map are explored (Hollywood area). After playing the game for most of the day have to say that I like the driving mechanics. It's easy and smooth. The map itself is not as large as the GTA games so it is in a way easier to navigate if you remember to head to one of those large boulevards and branch off from there.I recommend the GamesRadar guide for the landmarks and especially for film reels as it shows the picture of the actual buildings along with zoomed in map location. The SC map just tells the general location. Tried to hunt for the first film reel and could not do it with the SC map only. The game froze again when transitioning with Rusty driving once. Also stuff on the ground, like newspapers & trash etc take awhile to 'catch up' and generate as you're driving or walking. Installed to disc and think it's better now. I made it to Vice! The final mission for Homicide is solid. The Homicide section was quite lengthy, but enjoyed every single minute. |

Straight line to destination, and turn when the marker starts moving! While we have to make sure we don't hit stuff, as long as the penalty system is not like Mafia ONE where you had to obey ALL the traffic rules (red light, speed limit, one way street) I'm fine. |

Had to dodge quite a number of 'story-related Q&A' at the official Xbox forum so as to not spoil the story for myself. I also found out that some folks resolved the freezing issue by installing the game to hard disk. |

Got the game on Firday. Started playing late at night. After midnight in fact. And today I'm already on Disc 3. Vice. Maybe it's just me but if you skip trying looking for achievements, the longevity of a single story is not that long. But still it's awesome.
Freezing issues. Passed two discs and now on third, haven't encountered any. Maybe the best way is to install your game to avoid that. I've installed all three and no freezing so far. Hope I don't jinx it. Huhu. |

* Fixes for several in-game store issues including age-verification for DLC purchases * Fixes for minor gameplay bugs and graphical issues * Fixes for several minor plot/objective/conversation issues * Improvements in stat-tracking and Social-Club integration Finished the game/story. About 95% completion just few street crimes and 2 vehicles left. Not sure how I feel about ending. Powerful story though ... great work by Team Bondi/Rockstar .. thought provoking, makes you feel conflicted. |

Collecting gives you an outfit and is not part of 100% though. 2. For some vehicles they are location specific and are hard to find outside of the mission unless you're really lucky Packard Custom - Arson desk, 1st mission 'The Gas Man', turn around before going into the InstaHeat factory Pontiac Torpedo Six - Vice desk, 2nd mission 'The Set-Up', in the parking lot at the beginning boxing stadium Police cars - at a crime scene get in all the cars/vans Service Van #1 - at the Polar Ice Factory during one of the missions, in SouthWest Hollywood Buick Ambulance - Grand Samaritan Hospital .. other vehicle guides out there but these are the ones that gave me problems 3. To get 5-stars or better rating, always get your partner to drive. 4. Hunting landmarks is easy also because of the partner driving. Mark the main part of the road not side roads or alleys. 5. When tailing someone it is preferable to stay very far back and out of sight. The chances are higher for you to be spotted when you are close rather than you losing the tail. There are two achievements (if you have Naked City DLC) where you need to follow without failing. 6. In most street crime car chases it is usually 'rigged'. No matter what your partner says to spin them out or whatever, you can usually just follow until a pre-determined time. You can end some chases early if your partner successfully shoots the tires out. Enemy cars can do superhuman hairpin turns so watch out. Most missions fail because of car chases. I'm taking it slow and easy .... as I want to try to get 5-star before i move on to the next case, because i know i won't come back to them again once I finish the game's storyline. i'm like that. hehehe .....
also, I'm beginning to realise that "lie" and "doubt" are very thin line separating them. up to last nite, i always use "doubt" whenever I think I don't have evidence to backup my "lie" accusation, but now the lines are blurred. hard to explain here, but it's like i choose "doubt" because i dont think I have evidence to accuse him, but only to realise it's wrong. on second replay, i obviously choose "lie" and then only the scripted conversation reveals to me what is the evidence I am supposed to rely on, but sometimes this doesn't make sense based on the earlier dialogue preceding the "lie"/"doubt" selection. it's as if the developers designed this branching knowing full well of the storyline (obviously!) but not from a person like myself who is still figuring out the case. not sure if anyone here understands what i'm trying to say ..... lol. never mind. Note that when you complete all achievements for the main game it does not count as completing retail. You need to get all the DLCs given at release/pre-order if you want to get all achievements - "The Naked City" and "The Slip of the Tongue". 5 achievements each for 100 points. Their price on Xbox live is to be announced but hopefully it is nothing more than 400 pts - my guess is 560 points as it is allegedly shorter than the other DLCs to come.
Feel a little mad about that as have been grinding away at the achievements thinking I can complete them. Now have to wait until the release of DLCs sometime next month. |

I've a few games where I've gotten 1000/1000 and have it count as completed only to have it considered incomplete a few months later when they add DLC ie. Alan Wake, Dante's inferno and so on. Personally I'd count 1000/1000 as a completed retail game.Feel a little mad about that as have been grinding away at the achievements thinking I can complete them. Now have to wait until the release of DLCs sometime next month. |

I've never ever get a complete perfect achievement. Not even half way. The most I got was 700 I think for Batman: Arkham Asylum. I salute you all for able to do so. Huhhuu.

Rockstar Social Club is still broken. My friend that just finished the game same thing happened. End game, replay any case .. all clues reset zero.
No word on those first day DLCs but the first official DLC 'Nicholson Electroplating' (Arson) will be released 21st June. |

Played the game for a couple of hours. Really good. Definitely a game that needs patience and indulgence. A game changer for emotions in a video game.
No idea how long will it take to complete the entire game. |

In one of the replays, an entire POI sequence and clue area was chopped off (I could not get the game to trigger this event i.e. it involves using the phone to call up HQ). So I went ahead and finished the case, and I still got all questions and all clues right (even though clearly I did not!). I didn't have this problem during replays before the patch. |

Despite Team Bondi and Rockstar said that you can't kill innocents in this game, I found out you can kill your partner. XD. and ran over him. luckily he was " resurrected ".

The first case on Vice Desk has a flaw in it. When faced with concurrent objectives and destinations, you need to get the sequence right otherwise you will be short of a clue for the subsequent interrogation. That's not playing nice, Rock*. Made me replay that case .....

Need to put in some serious hours. Is it me or it kinda gets repetitive - - a case occurs, you get there, you find clues, you interview, you bust the bad guy, rinse and repeat. Perhaps later stages it is a lot more than this. I don't think I'm doing too well in the interviews. I try my best to read the expressions on the face but still can't quite get it right. |

I don't think I'm doing too well in the interviews. I try my best to read the expressions on the face but still can't quite get it right. Yes it is quite repetitive, one playthrough is all needed. The investigating thing is quite easy as it's not difficult to miss things if you take your time. Chases are rigged. Gunfighting is so short, blam blam .. cutscene. There's no real branching off of the story or gives the player any choice. The ending was also very sudden, saw it coming .. but it felt like it was put in there to conclude it cause they were running out of time or something. |

finish all the case yesterday..
took me around 18 hours.. and now working on the side mission, cars, badge and location, after that im selling this one.. really not my type of game.. boring.. always to do same thing over and over again.. :/ |

I think I'm about to finish Disc 2. Quite engrossing if you play continuously. I usually play about 2 hours max so I guess I'll take my time to finish the game. Every time a case is solved, you really want to know what is in store for the next case... I personally have come to love everything about the game. The first time I saw the nekkid body on my LCD TV screen...

i finish the game 18 hours main case, 5 star all.. then now to complete sub mission, collect cars, secret badge, landmark and film reel.. :/ me left 7 cars and 19 sub mission, 6 hour already past for this only.. cars is damn hard, all old cars look kinda same.. :/ tips for u, when doing case, when arrive at certain place, look surround u for cars, cuz some cars spawn alot only during case.. if u miss, gonna have to repeat the case again like me :/ |

You probably figured it out already Anyway you have to load the game, then after press start (A), press (X) to go to Xbox Live Marketplace. There will be a list of all LA Noire downloadable content. For the ones that say "Owned -- Get Content" just press and then start download. Once download complete you can play though Cases. Or if you start a fresh game it will be fit in sequence as you go along the story. |

i havent bought it yet, but may end up not getting the pass altogether. The novelty of LA Noire is wearing thin on me pretty fast. on another note, collecting the film reels now. the level of detail that goes into the game is really amazing even in secluded less-travelled areas of the game. e.g. texture of the walls, the floor/ground, the folliage, signboards, lighting, tunnels, parks, playground, etc.... graphically just amazing. |

Yeah I like him too. He makes wisecracks but not in a mean way. Eventually they will have a sale on the DLCs like Deal of the Week maybe you can get them then. It's a pretty game but unlike Red Dead there's nothing much else to do after you're done with the story. |

ok, i just browsed thru the in-game marketplace.
i already have The Naked City case, Badge Pursuit Challenge, and Broderick Suit when i bought the game. Button Man Suit unlocked. The Chicago Piano is free DLC. So 800 MSP for the Pass gets me the 3 DLC cases and Sharpshooter Detective Suit. Think I'll pass for now. |

Reefer Madness, final case/dlc for LA Noire out yesterday.
Very short uninteresting case imo. Everyone probably sell off the game now as no point in replaying anything |

"The Naked City" has to be the best of 'em all. A simple burglary yet complicated by love. Truly depicts the real human emotion and how fragile it is.

never heard of any restriction for this game. i think should be fine.
even i installed the content into the hdd, i still need to swap disk to play. not much issue. |
