Haha. Thanx dude for the info. Maybe I'll try that.

Usually I get my games at Gamer's Hideout. So far it's the most trusted and convenient for me. biggrin.gif

Rockstar social club is as fantastic as ever. It tells you what questions you got wrong and how many pieces of evidence you're missing.

It's a pretty good feature for all the achievement whores out there.

Also don't forget that syncing to RSC gets you a free outfit.

Give credit to Team Bondi...the australian developer of this game....they do most of the hardwork...
Rockstar games only publish it.....It's kinda sad most people praise Rockstar Games and not mentioning Team Bondi...
BTW it's a great game...just got it for RM145.....hehehe laugh.gif

Planning to get this... but not yet. Maybe, next week perhaps

I heard rumors on the official Xbox forums that the game has caused overheating issues.
A quick Google search reveals both the Xbox 360 and PS3 having this issue.

LA Noire causing console overheating issues

QUOTE
A minority of Xbox 360 and PS3 owners in the US are finding that Rockstar's long-awaited detective game, LA Noire, is causing significant hardware problems. Yesterday, posts began to appear on forums, complaining that consoles running the game would continually freeze up during play. According to industry news source MCV, Rockstar's customer support site originally blamed the PlayStaton 3 hardware suggesting that the latest firmware 3.61 update was causing machines to overheat.

It later became clear that Xbox 360 owners were having similar issues. On the official Xbox forum, a user named ACrules7 wrote, "So far I haven't been able to play for more than 10 minutes w/o the game freezing. It has frozen 4 times now, it took me 3 tries just to get out of the alleyway! I love the game already but this is seriously ruining the immersion for me."

The problem, which has yet to be identified but seems to cause consoles to overheat and consequently freeze up, seems to affect older versions of both consoles as well as the new slim models. Rockstar has now posted a workaround on its LA Noire support site, requiring users to delete the game data, set up an alternate user name and then launch the game again. Rockstar will certainly be working on a downloadable patch for the game, but there's no word on when that will be released.

I think it's fine for a newly released title. An upcoming patch will no doubt solve it.

Thus far the reception for the game has been overwhelmingly positive but gamers are cautioned to play this game quote "when in the mood as the lengthy cut-scenes might be at times, boring." All have praised the game to be almost a movie with interaction. smile.gif

Hmm. I hope they resolve this issue real soon.

What about fellow gamers already have this game? Has this issue occurred? And usualy what do you do when your console freezes? Just turn it off? Just wondering if there's any other way. smile.gif

Yeap indeed I think this is by far the most movie interacting game I've ever seen. Real actors, very realistic facial expression. smile.gif

Just a reminder to fellow gamers who have played the game, please use "spoilers" if you are posting anything revealing so as not to spoil it for those who havent played.

No freezing or overheating for me. Installed the game on hardisk, not sure if it has any bearing.

Yes, the outfit comes into play after you've moved up to plain clothes police officer. Some outfits give you better gun handling and resistance, some just look spiffy and have no "special effects". tongue.gif

About 17% progress after 3.5 hours of core gameplay and all side missions (hidden cars, street crimes, etc.).

However, some issues I've noticed thus far:

(1) serious framerate tearing issues (not sure if that's technically correct term) at the start of the game

(2) in some parts of the game, as you finish questioning witnesses, the background music comes on and overrides the witness' dialogue/speech. so only her mouth moves but cannot hear what she said.

(3) when driving, you can press X to get your partner to guide you to your destination. however, sometimes pressing X to get guidance disrupts the dialogue between u and your partner during pre-scripted conversation (i.e. it ruins the story telling).

All in all, it's a good game although somewhat linear thus far.

It froze once on me, in the bank vault for a street crime. No idea why as there was no lagging or issues beforehand. Was only playing for about 20 minutes. So far have been playing few hours has not happened again. Installing to HDD would definitely be better and will do that once I can tear myself away from the game!

Used this guide to get all landmarks
http://www.gamesradar.com/f/la-noire-film-...517205858594034
but have yet to get the 50 film reels

This morning had tons of fun getting the 40 cars achievement. Just have to get in a new car for it to trigger. It's now a habit to look at every car that passes by or in parking lots. It's difficult as all these old style cars look similar. There is another achievement for all 90+ cars in the city and that one will be a beast.

The story is quite linear but the complicatedness of the interrogation will help with replayability. The game reminds me of Mafia series, True Crime and an old PC cop game that was set in LA too (but can't remember name).

The map system is a little iffy. I'm not sure why they didn't go with the marked line to destination like in previous GTA games. I know there's no GPS in those times smile.gif but it's quite tough to navigate. The partner directions aren't much help and it's better to just drive in the general direction of the destination.

About the interrogation, what piano music is correct/incorrect? Am having trouble figuring that out.

@ redninja, rockstar social club is already tracking your landmarks, if you use their interactive map which is right at the bottom of the page i linked, it shows you what collectibles you're missing and their location on the map so you can focus more on the story since you can always go back to collect them. The automatic update refreshes more quickly than the RDR one so i can easily tell that you're way ahead of me in terms of achievements even if you got it a day earlier than me.

even if you have problems with the tune that plays after every question, you can look on your notebook to see if there's a tick/cross next to the question. Rockstar social club's case tracker also tells you if you're missing a clue and what questions you got right/wrong/unopened.

Bioware could learn a thing or two from the rockstar's social club features.
