Game looks really cool, think Rockstar won't put their name on it if it doesn't fit with their style. From the action/shooting sequences it looks like RDR. What I like is how the facial expressions are spot-on like the actual actors. Ground breaking stuff. In the game you need to deduce if the suspect is lying or not based on facial expression.
This is the first time a game has been recognized by the festival.
“We’re thrilled that L.A. Noire is being recognized by the Tribeca Film Festival in this way,” said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. “It’s a real honor, and another step forward for interactive entertainment.”
L.A. Noire Will Let You Skip Sections that Keep You Stuck
At the Tribeca Film Festival, Rockstar pointed out to what lengths they are going to invite the non-gamer crowd to L.A. Noire. What if the trickier sections of the game are too hard? Well, Rockstar apparently doesn't want anyone having trouble with the action sequences of the game to loose their way through the story.
If you fail a certain section a given number of times, the game will let you skip past it, allowing you to keep going with the narrative. In a game that is rumored to be 80 percent narrative story and 20 percent action gaming.
Release May 17 this month, about two weeks from now.

A reviewer over at Guardian.co.uk accidentally published his L.A. Noire prior to the lift of the review embargo, and revealed his perfect 5/5 score to the world for several hours. It's since been retracted, but not before we managed to grab a little snip from the wrap-up:

In the past, games with such overwhelming ambitions have floundered on odd, usually peripheral, aspects that jarred – such as unrealistic animation (and especially facial animation), clunky dialogue, poor virtual camerawork or facile characterisation. LA Noire is the first game to lack any such element which naggingly reminds you that you're playing a video game, rather than strolling through a film or TV series.
That's why it marks a breakthrough for games as a whole – and we can't wait to see what Rockstar does with LA Noire's technology in its other blockbuster franchises.
It sounds like Team Bondi and Rockstar have a winner on their hands.
A rare 'video game' that puts story in front of anything else. Driven by Avatar-like motion capture technology delivering every detail of the actor's emotion, looks set to be an 'evolution' to video games. If you ask me, this is the type of games that is needed to push other game devs' development standards. A lot like "Heavy Rain" but even that the character emotions were restrained.
Am always a big fan of Rockstar games. Can't wait for this to be finally release Gonna replay a bit of RDR just to pass the time till then. Counting the days~
