QUOTE(CrossX @ Apr 20 2011, 08:34 PM) haha!QUOTE(fongzai92 @ Apr 20 2011, 08:36 PM) certainly not. but gps locking will be long. I needed 5 minutes to lock gps (for first time) without data when I was in Sydney. QUOTE(erymanthus @ Apr 20 2011, 08:40 PM) Wait, that's my name quoted over there BTW, it's nice to see a troll in here. Good thing you guys didn't feed the troll much. Also TS can remove the quote la. everyone contributed for the first page anyway. No need for my name in the first page. |

QUOTE(saya_zharif @ Apr 12 2011, 01:23 PM) been reading up v15. I lol'd hard at this one QUOTE(kjser @ Apr 20 2011, 09:45 PM) Alright! Thanks everyone for the precious informations. from which phone are you upgrading to? i think galaxy s2 may be released in May. don't know when it'll reach malaysia though. If got big budget, wait for galaxy s2. I'm sure it'll be future-proof and IMO will surpass iphone5 spec as I am not seeing apple competing with specs. (shown in their latest ipad2 ad)Cheer! galaxy s i9000 is only 10 months old. has the fastest cpu&gpu amongst single-core smartphones. Also, it is still holding up well against a plethora of upcoming dual-core phones. Not to mention the most beautiful screen, super amoled |

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Apr 18 2011, 05:19 AM) 1 and 2 : Good guide. can add to first page. I also need a lot of catching up in xda.find cf-root in xda, it has the latest JVB version there. just flash with odin then u get root and busybox as well. also, you can choose to convert to ext4 if you want by using the ext4 app. but my advice, better wait for the official source code release so that all the xda devs can figure it out to add full ext4 to GB. till now, its still experimental. 3. the gps is okay with stock JVK/JVB 4. flash other custom GB roms. QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Apr 20 2011, 10:23 PM) yeah, and we'll be the only legacy to continue this phone for good. hehe, and if im not mistaken, samsung gonna lock the bootloader in SGS 2, is it? samsung won't lock up the bootloader unless google asks them to. I read this from supercurio's or kalpik's twitter.QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Apr 20 2011, 10:26 PM) Haha thank you. went to sydney, then along the coast and then canberra. got a lot of photos and videos to show you guys. copying them into the computer, will upload them in a few days. QUOTE(adrianteddy @ Apr 24 2011, 10:15 AM) official dxjpe Ah, from darkyy, no wonder I'd suggest flashing to nitr8's ezbase. Then you can reflash to dxjpe. Ezbase should solve all the problems. |

That's right, this phone has no optical zoom, only digital zoom. That's why the picture looks blurry when zooming in. |

Remove .bak from filename and the app will be reinstalled |

QUOTE(Wengsoo @ Apr 25 2011, 01:20 PM) Want to ask, is it Galaxy S discontinued? Galaxy sl is a downgrade. Galaxy s II is the successor. Samsung probably made galaxy sl because they have excess components and depleted super amoled screen.I asked Samsung counter at One U just now about Galaxy S, he said no more produce, so I ask replace by what, he said replace by Galaxy SL. . . . But the Galaxy SL feels much slower, and heavier also. Anyone can comment on this? |

QUOTE(nasrulbond @ Apr 26 2011, 09:28 PM) guys, which froyo custom rom is the best right now eh? simply honey? i've been staying in dark side for a long long time, dunno much about other rom. For you, try Insanity rom Added on April 27, 2011, 12:08 am QUOTE(jojoe @ Apr 26 2011, 09:19 PM) calling early batch of galaxy s! I have the july batch. GPS performance was really bad. Newer roms and modem in the 2.2.1 roms has greatly improved. I haven't done any hardware fix yet.regard to the gps accuracy, consistancy and locking speed. i heard the phone got issue with the internal antenna on the early batch of the phone (also stated on the page 1), gps can be improve by modified the antenna (hardware) and gps setting tweak (software). later version of the SGS is gps improved via new design antenna (i guess) i got my phone on the 1 day it launching at sunway pyramid.... of cause my phone is suffer gps issue. software gps fix not alway work on the phone. my question are 1) do samsung service center will change the new antenna to the early batch of SGS? 2) how fast your device lock the position on your phone? - whatsapp capable sent location, but my location is not correct most of the time. 3) your sgs is consistance locking when using the gps eg: google map or papago? - it work on my phone but it not stable reception and sometime jumping location and not able to track correctly especially when you turning.... the arrow still going straight. currently my sgs is running cm7... since it near to warranty end... i wanna check with ur guys with early batch of sgs solve your gps issue at samsung service center? or u all just live with it? i mean hardware gps fix. eg change new antenna or samsung replace new phone to you.. In flight mode, I can get gps satellite lock in 5 minutes. Location is very accurate (10m accuracy) That was when I'm in Australia. Its location locking is also consistent. I don't think samsung will replace your hardware. They never admitted the gps problem for the early batch of the phone. This post has been edited by gmhafiz: Apr 27 2011, 12:08 AM |
