chan a.k.a nizam,

installation for cm7 is exactly same like MIUI.. here's the link to download those files
.. start from EZBase, then flash cm7 kernel without tick autoreboot, then reboot into CWM and flash cm7-initial-zip file..

There are 4 kernels for cm7 which are stock kernel, TK-Glitch, bilboa1 and platypus.. i've been using all kernels and i prefer platypus.. because you won't OC up to 1.5ghz will you? tongue.gif with platypus, you can UV up to -50mV on 1ghz and it's still stable ... I guess it depends on each device.. my phone can't do heavy UV.. very manja one  brows.gif

goatrip JVH almost ready. jumping back to Samsung rom. I'm on CM7, UI is ugly! Samsung stock roms are better in my opinion.

MIUI chantek but lags! and it's iOS alike! and there's so many things needed to be done by me (average user) to get it to work ((RIL polling issue))! and then there's the fact that almost all my apps setting (saved by TB) disappearing after I restore. luckily I have my TB folder backed up to my PC before going to CM7.
and one other thing: I kinda have emotional attachment to TW4, it's bloody AWESOME!

there's someone in XDA who managed to port SGS II lockscreen to SGS GB rom. every ROM packager surely will implement this lockscreen as soon as the porter upload the sources. I predict by next week all popular rom will get this. drool.gif

in latest cm7, ril polling issue is fixed days ago. TB restore works without a hitch. default theme is not beautiful but it can be changed with theme chooser. there are quite a number of them in xda themes.

only outstanding issue is 2g/3g switch and battery. after that it can go to RC status. when it does, we'll get a properly working miui.

yeah I actually noticed that when I'm on CM7. no need to lock-unlock to enable data. but I need codec support from Samsung.

Barring lack of smooth MKV playback (AVIs play fine with MoboPlayer), it does look like CM7 is stable and mature enough to be used as a daily driver. Speedy beast this AOSP rom - practically no lags at all.

Had MIUI for about 4 hours on my phone - it was a beautiful looking ROM but I didn't like the iOS-ness feel of the whole UI. It wasn't super smooth too, did notice some minor lags here and there. Plain old CM7 feels way better, in my experience.

1) yes, it's true. CM7 doesn't lag at all. I know this very well. but codec support is what makes me jump back to Samsung rom. I want to be able to brag to my friends that I don't need to convert any of my videos to be played in my phone.
2) as I thought, there are still lags in MIUI.

now waiting for full TW4 icons on Goatrip JVH. that's what this rom lacks. everything else just AWESOME!

Supercurio Hacked Lagfix/EXT 4 kernel (without Voodoo sound)

just buy Voodoo Control Plus and you'll get Voodoo sound.
